In my many many hours spent on the interweb i found a lot of people seem to think that any woman over about 5'5" (ish) is some kind of freak. I'm 5'9" (lol) which, some people seem to think makes me a giant (your classed as a giant if you are over 6'4") because I'm a woman. (It does give me lovely long legs though).
My idea of perfection (as some of you might know) Is Kathleen Robertson, who is 5'4".
This seems to be about the height expected by a lot of men, BUT people this height (in my experience) are often referred to as short. Does this mean that women have to be short to be normal height? Is this some kind of male dominance thing?

Chloe March 12, 2010 04:02:39+4As a 5' 11" 20 year old, when i see another tall chick I take serious notice. I won't think a thing of my height until another tall girl comes by me. The second she's there, I'm watching her and wondering if thats how I look & move. I even catch myself standing taller, to in a way, compete with her height.
I'm also a stripper & have never been turned down by a man for being 'to tall'. Often times it works to my advantage. I stand out amongst the other girls, look model esque, and draw the men who love legs. As a woman I feel that my height can be empowering and amazing. I realize it more and more every day : )

But when you think about it, being a tall woman today shouldn't be that big a deal.
I mean, the modeling industry, for example, simply refuses to accept women under 5'7".
Sure, you can model if you're 5'3", but walking the runway for D&G; is at best a distant dream.
Being tall doesn't make a woman less attractive.
It's all in the way you present yourself.
If a tall woman walks around all hunched over and looking like she's trying to make herself look shorter than she really is, then I feel it's that behavior that makes her look unattractive.
Not their height.
Some of the most attractive women I've seen are tall.
And I'm talking 5'10" and over
Take Stacie Keibler for example.
Pro wrestler, former Nitro Girl, model, actress, dancer, etc...
She's 5'11" and she's gorgeous!
Seriously, who can resist 42" legs? I ask you? ;)
X-men stars Famke Janssen and Rebecca Romijn are both 5'11", and so is Terminator 3's Kristanna Loken.
All three are so gorgeous it makes my mouth water.
Actresses Angie Harmon (of Law & Order fame), Laura Prepon (That 70's Show), Jenna Elfman, Elizabeth Berkley, and Liv Tyler are all 5'10" or over.
Former Playboy Playmate Cara Michelle Meschter is 6'2" and there are people who would kill to look lik...

Eh-hemm... Guilty of that myself. ;)
Gabrielle Reece? We all know who she is. ;)
6'3" and stunning!
As to men's insecurities about their partner's height..... Oh yeah. That's definitely a factor.
If a girl is taller than her guy, it can cause problems with the guy's ego.
Yes, it's a dominance thing.
I've seen it personally.
I have a friend who's 6'1" and the only guy she's been able to hold on to is 6'5".
All the guys she's dated that were shorter than her have bailed on her because they couldn't handle her being taller than they are.
Silly boys!

Less desirable as a partner? Yes, if they are too tall. It's not fair, but it is the societal reality that men are uncomfortable with taller women, just as women as less comfortable with shorter men. Cheers.
