Are Republicans Really for Smaller Government? from Shanedk on Youtube

Sean 2012/05/29 03:40:36
I normally would have no interest in a republican versus democrat topic because that is all a stage show, further I am for shutting down governments, corporations, academic institutions, and religions, and abolishing artificial geographical boundaries so that we can have freedom of movement on this planet!

That aside, I did find this video from Shanedk on Youtube interesting and worth doing a thread on because he's a conservative guy who's calling out the Republicans for what they are which is no different than any other politicians, and he's demonstrating point by point by point by point by point by point that the Republican Politicians are NOT for limited government, and are NOT for prosperity any more so than any other politicians, Democrats or others!

Again, I normally would not get into any of these Democrat Versus Republican topics because it's beyond my scope of thinking, and those get boring, however, this is one of the few in that category where you're hearing truth! I give Shanedk credit for that great video.

Now if only I could find a liberal who's doing the same thing on the Democrat Politicians, if I do I will do a thread on that one.

Their is no difference between the two parties anymore. They are both corporate owned and dance to the same tune.

To put it delicately, the American people are screwed and going down fast.

There can be a differecne if you pay attention and support the right candidate. We must have politicians otherwise how can you have a democracy. The trick in for the masses to support the best candidate and not just the one that had the most money to spend. Amerians so they hate money in politics but consistently the one with the most money wins. Shame on you all.

I wish I could agree with you. We would have a much better future if that were true. I feel like we have been sold out. Maybe I'm just being too pessimistic but I don't think that either party has the best interest of our country at heart.

He's right. Authoritarians took over BOTH Parties long ago. That's why a limited govt would serve us so well. make it impossible for politicians to misbehave with our money.

Big government? Ah, it's more of a sales pitch. You know like the hillbilly's "revenuer" yelp. I'm not against government. I am against rigging the government. I believe monopolies should not exist in our free market arena. I believe we should have referee's on the playing field of the free market. I'm against hiding profits in oversea accounts. But I'm most concerned with my party saying they are against "government" when I know they're not. We always run to the government when we're in trouble. Bank and insurance bailout anyone?

Thanks for your contribution to this thread mind-pilot, great post.

Republican politicians do claim all the time that they are for limited government, small government, however, as Shanedk points out, every Republican President America has ever had going all the way back to President Lincoln has contributed greatly to the explosive growth of the US Government. Are the Republican Politicians in any way standing behind what they claim to believe in?

To answer your question, no! We've got a whole new mind-set inside this republican party. That's why I firmly believe it has been hi-jacked because we have become the idiots we claim the others are. Look at the choices the republicans were given during the debates. Incredibly stupid choices. All lying......like Cain said....we can blame ourselves for this mess. We got what the Super Pac paid for. I ain't buying in. Hipocrits! We don't stand behind what we claim. We claim whatever we say, even if we can't remember it.

It depends. First it has to be something the government should be involved in, not some social program trying to parent and control everyone.

Conservatives are not so much concerned about big government as they are about government sticking its big fat nose in places it doesn't belong.

Like what? Like gay marriage? Decriminalizing marijuana? Arresting illegal immigrants? Like what?

Like interfering with commerce that is not between states, like the Dept of Education that makes us like a 3rd world country, like the bloated FDA that slows down medical advances, like the EPA that makes us dependent on terrorists for our energy needs. If you liberals got to have your homo weddings, your dope smoking and your fraudulent illegal immigrant votes, I for one will trade you even up.

Oh, you mean the Federal Government. I agree with you on the Dept of Education. It should be like England. By 12 you're picked for either a trade school or a graduate school. The FDA, unfortunately is so corrupted you can buy off the agents to get bad drugs passed. Like China, some will kill ya and if they do I think the corporations leader should kill himself out of shame. And the EPA. If those whining non-smokers and complainers in LA would just live with the smog and the headaches and the diseases we could have cheaper, wind energy, electric energy and get rid of this stupid 110 year old oil industry. We should have listened in the '70's.
But you make a good point.

The only "Small Government" Republicans are interested in is less government regulation on corporations and elimination of government programs for the poor and elderly.

Yes they are and it is just as hard for them as it is the dems to cut government and spending but I trust the repubs to start hacking away with it because the pressure is on them to control and not the dems!
