for over four years, Republicans have thwarted democracy, using archaic filibuster rules to bring the Senate to a standstill. This abuse of the filibuster is unparalleled in the history of the United States.(1) Led by Republican Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, who vowed to stop all of President Obama's priorities, this cynical strategy has blocked genuine Wall Street reform, a public option for health insurance, and universal background checks for gun purchases, but its most outrageous abuse is denying President Obama his nominees for the courts and to run the government.lleled in the history of the United States. The US Senate should be required to actually filibuster like the RepubliPUKES in Texas made Wendy Davis do. No food breaks, no bathroom breaks, no leaning on the podium and no time spent talking about anything other than the topic being filibustered.

To block a partisan bill, Republicans in the US Senate are filibustering anything that comes their way. They're refusing anything proposed by a Democrat all for the sake of scoring political points with the people. Despite all their anti-Obama rhetoric about how he's done nothing to help the Economy, they are actively IGNORING the the nation's issues just to ruin his reputation and hopefully earn more seats in Congress. They think the American people are stupid and won't realize the ones causing economic stagnation are them.

and you do not believe it is happening on both sides?or have the democrats now accepted any of the proposals set forth by the republicans. and it would appear as though most bills are partisan and accepted only by the practice of you scratch my back and I will scratch yours for we both have to keep our jobs.

The Repbulicans haven't set forth any proposals worth considering. It's either tax cuts this and spending cuts that or nothing at all. They lack a basic understanding of economics and history.
