Are religious conservatives driving us to the new dark ages?

bob 2012/07/10 17:21:33
Intelligent design is an intellectual killer
The Religious Reich destruction of public schools is driving us to the new Dark Age.
The forced conversion of the Roman Empire to Christianity caused the last Dark Age.
The Religious Reich believes that science education is evil
The religious conservatives are driving us to the new dark ages
The religious conservatives are not driving us to the new dark ages
Science is driving us to the new dark ages
Once blinded by religion, science and logic will disappear and we will enter a new dark age.

Isn't there something in the "hallowed" Bible about rendering that which is Caesar's onto Caesar and that which is God's onto God?? ... why do these religious-types continue to insist on infusing 'their' religion into every aspect of everyone's life? ... practice it if 'you' want ... leave 'me' out of it.

The real religious conservatives with too radical of ideas have greatly reduced in number since the Middle Ages, I have to believe most people that hold their religion seriously do so with common sense enough to avoid something as radical as "driving us into the new dark ages." There will always be a few radicals that might even make enough noise for someone to take notice, but I'm not really going to worry about it.

Bob, go lay out at the beach or something, let your brain relax ....LOL....

Let's remember that the constitution grants all Americans freedom of religion as well as freedom from religion. I don't want the religious radicals forcing their distorted views on me through political pressure. At the heart of every faith system there is self indulgent pride that God loves them but is going to send the rest of the world to hell. If there were no restrictions placed on these people they would be stoning women to death in the public square. It is in their holy book which has been interrupted in many different ways to endorse any number of atrocities throughout history.

In reality, they have formed an unholy alliance with the Republican/Tea Party and their money backers the vulture capitalist/industrialists.

The are really looking to form a Fascistic Theocracy and indeed put is into a period of totalitarian rule.

The people will revolt against that quicker than you can snap your fingers.

No, that would be brainless Liberals. REAL Science can get along quite well with Christianity, which is I'm sure your real target here. After all, when it comes right down to it, Science merely answers HOW Goddidit.

Science and the United Nations will be the new dark ages and killers of mankind, as we know it. Radiation and chemicals are mutating the next generation. People will not have enough good food and clean water. Roman Christianity and the Pope aren't as strong as the UN's Agenda 21 Depopulation Initiative, the Bilderbergs, our city councils, and the ICLEI, and the chem trails.

While one can certainly point to some negative effects certain monotheist interests have had on education, such as the push to "teach the controversy" regarding ID, our school system is the way it is, and therefore more subject to such whims, because it's working on the same model that was used to turn out future factory workers for the Industrial Revolution. It's aiming at satisfying outdated corporate interests.

We're not in that era anymore. We need more students going into the sciences and technology industries and we need people who can understand, discuss intelligently with the rest of us and design (add), change and get rid of (delete) what's no longer functional, as needed.

We need educational system paradigm shifts to match the exponential growth in the sciences and technology industries and people are already pointing that out and doing it.

    Here are solution based examples:

The shorter 11 minute video that introduces the topic: http://youtu.be/zDZFcDGpL4U

More on the above by the same Sir Ken Robinson: http://youtu.be/mCbdS4hSa0s

Example of a Different Education Paradigm That Works, the Kahn Academy: http://youtu.be/nTFEUsudhfs

That's just a little sample of what is productively affecting positive, desired change in education today.

God is dead. Jesus is dead. Mary is dead. Joseph is dead. Republicans are dead in the head. The only true religion is hate. I like the idea of Christianity, but I have yet to meet one. Those with the bumper stickers are cafeteria christians.

I believe there is a movement occurring today, backed by people who are publicly known as conservatives and specifically, Republicans, to USE Christianity as a tool to bring us into a new dark age where they rule, and the rest of us serve in hopes of getting some of the crumbs from their tables... but I don't believe they, themselves are actually religious...
    they certainly aren't Christ-like
