I honestly think that politicians, whether Republican or Democrat, are
using the topic of gun laws, as well as any other topic that they can to
keep this nation polarized. As long as the people continue to fight
amongst themselves they will continue to be distracted from what the
government is doing: working together to strip us of our freedom and
destroy the economic stability of this nation.

The sad thing is, their agendas aren't so secret. You can see massive funneling to mega corporations. You can see a selling off of power to those same groups. You can see legislation that strips away our freedom. It's right there in the open. It's just that the average American is too busy arguing over who makes the better master that they don't see what's going on.

I do not really think the Politicians are trying to get us to fight with each other, I would say that the un-Americans are splitting the nation apart. If you are really proud of our country you would not want to see it so far in debt. If you are really proud of our country then you would never kick the can down the road, but you would fix the problem right then. I do not believe the people in Congress or the president are proud of our country; they just want their pay checks and all the freebies they can get from lobbyist, and continue to get re-elected.

Fair enough. Though in all honesty, I was confronted by a hard core Republican recently because of a valid question I asked. His response was "List the reasons why you're an American after asking that question."

So I answered:
1. Being a naturally born citizen
2. Nope, that's really enough.

I thought it was witty. He didn't like it. Oh well.

Actually I think its bringing us together. People are starting to see the truth and less smoke and mirrors. Seems to me more demacrats are agreeing with more republicans. Demacrats like there guns to and the fiscal cliff people are seeing how greedy our politicians are.

As long as we are focused on gun control and the fiscal cliff we are not focused on WHY we have reached a point where the government has sunk us 16.5 trillion and rising debt. Why raising taxes and the threat of raising taxes has already effected the job industry. As long as we fuss with each other we do not get furious that our government has for years been raping all of us in order to line their own pockets at our expense. It is not their jobs leaving, it is not their retirements, pay checks, health insurance or any other thing that is endangered, it is ours. We justify their million dollars vacations, their high pay, their expensive benefits while they justify destroying ours and keep us focused on BS. They claim gun control will cut down gun deaths yet it hasn't worked in any city, state nor country but they are using it to disarm Americans and it is disarming. While we fuss and fight with ourselves they continue to take bribes from lobbyist, bail out their investment companies and raise taxes on all of us in the name of a Fiscal Cliff.

Bend over Americans cause we are being screwed.

I honestly don't think most politicians are intelligent enough to orchestrate and carry out such a strategic attack on liberty. They're pawns in this game just like the general public is.

But I do believe SOMEONE is responsible for the increasing political polarization you see here in America. I'm inclined to believe it's probably the major players like the Bilderberg Group and the IMF. They are the ones who would stand to benefit the most from America joining an international (and yes, possibly even "one world") government, and the political turmoil in this country seems to be conveniently moving us in that direction.

That's just my best guess. Obviously the nature of their game is to keep us misinformed and in the dark.

Politicians really are trying to divide us on straw man issues like abortion rights and support for prepaid benefits like Soc.Sec. and Medicare, however Attacks on the constitution like the first second and fourth amendments are very real. You can't generalize that much.

Actually both answers are correct. These are divisive issues any way you look at them and the divisiveness of politics goes back way before any type of cliff was being discussed. Political career-building runs on divisiveness. These are politicians and this is what politicians do. But the nation was founded by statesmen. Seen any lately?

Great answer. The issues are divisive and present us with many challenges but we still have to discuss and work on them. Gun control in a rural or hunting community bears a different message than in an urban city community for instance.

Thank you. Many don't realize that people still live in areas so remote that food and supplies are either flown in or they go out and hunt and gather what they can find themselves. They are known as indigenous. And it's what works for them.
Personally I think cities are something of a mistake. All they do is prepare people for living in an overpopulated world. The downside there is already becoming increasingly obvious.

Then why all the issues with the previous elections before this? Why was the country split into Republicans or Democrats? Why were third party options always shot down? Because for a very long time it has been an us vs them mentality. That's how both parties have been getting away with doing what they've been doing.

I wouldn't put it past them to do something like that. I don't trust anyone in washington. they all have thier own agenda and we are just pawns in a bigger scheme. What that scheme is, I don't know, but what I do know is it will be good for them and bad for us. This country is headed towards civil war again. Maybe not in my lifetime but it is coming. Unless something drastically changes soon which unless we have more politicians like Ron Paul its not going to happen.
