Are police officers who are allowed to pull someone over for not wearing a seat belt being allowed to profile?

This is not a debate on the seat belt law. I was pulled over by an officer and given a ticket. While he was standing there, a woman went by with 2 kids in the back seat loose. I asked him about her, and he said I didn't see it. I know this is a lie because he turned and looked at the car. My son was driving and had a long ponytail at the time. He was driving his baby, a mint condition 1979 baby blue Buick Le Sabre limited edition. His first car LOL it's 1o years older than he is. My question is does this allow them to pick what type they want to go after? Long hairs, blacks, fat people, people who look like their ex wife. Oh yah by the way he the cop wasn't wearing a belt either.

Well I know that they are trained to be aware of things that maybe seem iffy. So to a degree they are supposed to do these things. But as in every situation, there is some that abuse the power within..

unless i am wrong i know of no state that allows stopping for just a seat belt or profiling....this is a liberal rumor to stir up agitation between the masses..

I shouldn't have to wear a seatbelt if I don't want to in the first place. I'm not hurting anyone but myself if I don't.

Cops, when having someone pulled over for whaever reason, dont leave until they're finished unless there is some huge emergency. For example, they know speeders are sailing by while ticketing another speeder they stopped, and they have to finish one before going after another.
You were caught and stopped, its as simple as that.

PS, you really should wear your seat belt. I was against it too, but after a couple of weeks of putting it on before starting the car I didnt even notice it and it became automatic.

I hate it. Being large breasted (natural DD) the belt rides up against my neck.

Profiling is a good way for law officers to provide security for the American people but liberals don't like that as long as it tends to bring America down

If you're White you can't claim the "profiling" bit.

I never said you can't be profiled, just that you can't claim it. You should be able to claim it, but we don't live in that world.

Most are fair. I had the opportunity to ride on patrols (Volunteers in Police Service) and we looked at 'everyone' for violations. Not one race, or one certain kind of person.

I assume if you did this, it was in a larger city. I also assume they had to make sure you saw that side.

I have many friends that are, or were officers.
You cannot put them all in one bucket, as well as you can't say all whites are racist, or all blacks are lazy, or all Indians hate cowboys....on and on...

I didn't say they all were that way, I just asked if it was profiling?

All I can tell you is we were always looking for 'infractions' of the law. Color, hair, cars, time of day, none of that had anything to do with what we were looking for.

Police always target by personal preference and what they dont personally like. I was always stopped and searched because I had a skinhead in my youth.
