Are police officers who are allowed to pull someone over for not wearing a seat belt being allowed to profile?

This is not a debate on the seat belt law. I was pulled over by an officer and given a ticket. While he was standing there, a woman went by with 2 kids in the back seat loose. I asked him about her, and he said I didn't see it. I know this is a lie because he turned and looked at the car. My son was driving and had a long ponytail at the time. He was driving his baby, a mint condition 1979 baby blue Buick Le Sabre limited edition. His first car LOL it's 1o years older than he is. My question is does this allow them to pick what type they want to go after? Long hairs, blacks, fat people, people who look like their ex wife. Oh yah by the way he the cop wasn't wearing a belt either.

You were caught and stopped, its as simple as that.
PS, you really should wear your seat belt. I was against it too, but after a couple of weeks of putting it on before starting the car I didnt even notice it and it became automatic.
You cannot put them all in one bucket, as well as you can't say all whites are racist, or all blacks are lazy, or all Indians hate cowboys....on and on...
