Are People Who Want to Put Prayer Back in Public Schools Forgetting that non-Christians also Attend Public Schools?

If you go to a public school, you'll find people with all sorts of faiths. There are many Christians, but there are also Jews, Muslims, Pagans, etc, not to mention all of the atheists and agnostics. Are the people advocating to put prayer back in public schools forgetting the existence of non-Christians, or do they just not care about them?

No, they labour under the delusion that the US was founded as a Christian country. It wasn't, and they can't accept that.

Are you really sure of that?!?!??? Or you just saying something, cause it is a proven fact that when they had prayer in school the crime rates was not high as it is not...IJS!!!! And to make that statement, completely assonie, crimes are higher because they do not practice or have an spiritual fondation period.

There are currently more Christian inmates being incarcerated than of any other faith, including atheism. It is a fact.

Yes, there are moreChristian inmates, simply because there are more Christians.

Sorry, but that still doesn't disprove my point. Even if you counted only the percentage of inmates within each individual faith who are currently being incarcerated, Christianity's individual percentage would still be considerably larger than all of the other faith's individual percentages.

just because crime rates are higher does not mean it is because we don't have prayer. People have more refrigerators now too.

And respecting the balance of things. But I doubt most parents would be all that thrilled if their darling child brought home a Wiccan or Pagan ritual that they did in school that day.

Considering that my son got sent to the office for saying his teacher was wrong and that yes there were real witches and magic and ghosts when he was in 1st grade... I'd LOVE to see it myself. Not that I would as he's 23 now and I homeschool the youngest.

You're right of course, although what's wrong with bringing home a home made wand or plushy? O.o (Wait I think that's voodoo...).

Oh don't worry about that, I got suspended from ALL Religious Education classes for standing up and saying that "God didn't make the world, the Big Bang did". I'd been watching the discovery channel, stephen hawking special XD

I think it should be ok to pray, but not make anyone have to do it. Once, I was given an detention for quietly whispering 'God is great, God is good, let us thank him for our food, by his hands, we are fed, give us Lord our daily bread. Amen' to myself and no one else. I see no problem in something like that.

As long as it isn't violent or involves sexually abusing someone, I say everyone should be given religious freedom in schools.

If there's no one being harmed in any way and they're not forcing people to join in, I don't see the problem.

Religious freedom means all religions, not just some.

Islamist teachings are decietful and harmful. trust me, you do NOT want your children anywhere around that. Be very carefull what you wish for. The muslims take advantage of our freedom of speech to shout their rhetoric against us. We cant let them start praying to mecca 4 times daily at our elementary schools. Its called indoctrination of the young mind.

Why Christian prayer is ok, but no other religions? Yes, I read your comment above, but still.

A religion is a way of life, it doesn't just separate itself from a person just because a school says it should.

So, you would be ok with some satanic kids trying to get your child to join in with them? At my sons Highschool i saw this group of kids all dressed in black. You know, the Goth look. He said they were satan worshipers and they meet in that same place everyday. That stuff didnt go on when i was in school. It does now though.

As I said earlier, 'If there's no one being harmed in any way and they're not forcing people to join in, I don't see the problem'. Clearly, you haven't read anything I've said except what you WANT to.

Just because they dress that way doesn't mean they do that. My older sister is goth and she believes in Jesus and God. That kind of stuff is stereotyping and judging someone, which, by the way, isn't our place as Christians to do, it's God's.

remember this, be careful what you wish for. Reality check. The world is what it is. Yes, in a perfect world your views are great but we dont live in a perfect world. Just ask the parents of the black kid that got shot walking home because he was black and wearing a hoodie. Perception is everything. If i saw you on the street corner wearing a very very high mini skirt, lots of cleavage showing & high heels, my 1st impression would be that you are a hooker. So would everybody else. The cops didnt know you were going to a costume party. Like it or not it is what it is.
  • Feria~T... truthman 2012/03/24 17:58:04
    Feria~THEZombieSlayingB!tch of PHAET!~Badass Incarnate~
Perhaps, but stuff like that tends to happen even if you take every precaution anyways. So why live so cautiously if it'll happen anyways?

As to the analogy you gave of me being a hooker, I wouldn't care what anyone thought of me. I don't care what people think, why bother.

You are the perfect example of what i am talking about. Its your mindset. Sometimes caring about what other people percieve you as can and will save your life. Good luck! Its a badass world out there and if you are not aware of your surroundings it will get you killed. Peace

Don't tell me about what get's people 'killed' because I have almost been killed plenty of times for simply being at the wrong place at the wrong time. I've had things like this happen, not because of how I looked, but because I just happened to see something I 'shouldn't have'. Things like that have nothing to do with how I'm perceived.

If you believe think that, then you'd be worrying how I am perceiving you which I bet you arn't, are you?

Read the Qu'ran...compare and contrast to the old testament...apart from the language written in most of the places and the people are the same. Only thing different is the organisation.

Islam, inherently is not a bad religion. Remember the Holy Crusades? Yeah, we started them, we were the Jihad creators! Aside from that I think you need to need to take a look at the religion and learn a lot more about it before you compare it to Satanism which brings me on to...

Satanists are simply Christians. In a couple versions of the bible, Lucifer is not cast out of heaven but is instead sent to look after hell. Satan IS the so called 'fallen' one armed Angel, Lucifer. (Ah if only it was one black wing =D ). If a believer of Satan is therefore a believer in Lucifer and Lucifer is a character from the Bible... then they still believe in the same book...right?

Instead of harping on about the bible, you should read it and consider just what is in the bible and what is around you. (This is why I don't take the bible as gospel truth).

Also don't confuse Satanists with those who follow Pagan religions. Most pagan's don't like the Study of Necromancy and I'm pretty sure that's what you don't want. People running around in silly costumes dancing around maypoles (oh yes, Beltane isn't it?...

Did you know that Christ (according to Biblical/Historical Accounts) was born more likely in September? Yet Christmas follows the Winter Solstice O_O (Winter solstice, 21-22nd December).

Be open, be tolerant, all religions achieve the same aim. Peace, Prosperity and a whole lotta fun.

Obviously not the same one as you. Have you actually read the Qu'ran? Have you read the bible?

Did you see the Salem Witch Trials or the Spanish Inquisition? (Obviously you didn't, but did you read?) Both catholic funded genocide and you tell me Islam is bad? Islam actually promotes womens rights, but, just like with conservative attitudes some people take some of the words literally and then you get the Taliban or in America, red necks. (Thank god I have the Atlantic ocean between us otherwise you might just send the KKK)

Kennedy was elected 50 years ago!!!! And while the USA may not be a Catholic nation when you break it down by denomination it has the highest % of Christians in the country. Yes, there has been a decline still there are more Catholics in this country then there are Baptist.
