Are People Who Are On Welfare Because They Don't Read The Bible?

I am on welfare.

As a matter of fact, I have read the Bible. I don't accept it as fact, could that be the issue? God punishes me with a loving husband, wonderful children, a job that I love, a roof over my head, food to eat, because I don't believe in a book written by men thousands of years after it happened, who heard the story from a friend of a friend of a friend whose cousin heard it from a guy that one time? Please. I am on welfare because my loving husband has to work 2 jobs that don't pay as much as a full time job because there is no work. I am on welfare because the job that I love pays far less than I deserve, but alternatives are not open to me at this time. I am on welfare because my children, wonderful as they are, one of them needs special medical care that is beyond my means. I am on welfare, because through my situation, I cannot afford the rent on an apartment that fits the needs of my family, and I cannot afford to feed them. Yes, God hates me and punishes me with joy in the little things and the need to have some help. That so sounds like God.

Then what? Eat it? I'm positive that there are horrible murderers, rapists, pedophiles, etc. Who do not read the Bible and are getting away with their horrible crimes without being caught. Catch the criminals and teach the welfare citizens how to earn an honest living. There will always be a few who will need welfare because of disabilities, etc. Those I don't mind helping out.

You know, in some cases you may be right but I know so many people on welfare that just choose to sit on their ass instead of looking for a job. A lot of people use the "no one is hiring" excuse just so they don't have to work. I am a firm believer in the saying "where there is a will there is a way"

WTF does reading the bible have to do with being on welfare? That doesn't even make any since. And quite honestly, when I was a kid we were on welfare... and at that time my mom was trying to convert me into being a christian and made me read the bible. Reading that b.s. didn't help up get off welfare. It just boils down to how determined you are.

Wouldn't it be interesting to do a study between those that are on welfare and see how much and how often they read the Bible. You know, if Booker T. Washington is right that Christianity and reading the Bible increases your desires and therefore your ability for hard work; if we take that as an axiom, does that mean that the people who are getting government assistance spend nearly no time in the Bible, therefore have no desire, and therefore no ability for hard work? I could go a lot of places with this. I would love to see this proven out in some kind of sociological study, but it makes perfect sense.

How people survive in other countries where is no WELFARE? Welfare should be only for sick ,old and disabled . But unfortunately welfare is available to everyone why claims they in need,i know people who are on welfare all their life and working under the table,people like this pay no TAXES,they are LEECHES on society plus not only they get money,they get medicate and foodstamps,look at OCTOMOM, she has 14 kids and who you think paying for this, ALL OF US!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think that most are on welfare because they lost their job or were injured in some way, but a little less than half of them are on it because they got a taste of an easy life and became completely lazy as a result. Maybe if they had a little mmore insight on the bible they'd be inspired to do something, but most of them are too lazy to pick up a book :/
