Are God, Jesus and the Holy Ghost all one person, or are they three different beings?

Yes i have ADD December 30, 2008 01:35:47

I want to see what people think about this particular subject. Oh, and the reason that I have random pictures is because I can't find any that really fit.
All one person.
Three different beings.
I don't believe in that Godly stuff.

    Three different beings.

In the Garden of Gethsemanie...or however you spell it...Jesus prayed to his FATHER saying, "Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done." Why would he pray to Himself?

A very good question because the Holy Trinity is often misunderstood.

First, the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are three separate PERSONS, each distinct from one another.

Second, and more importantly, GOD is NOT a person. GOD is a NATURE.

GOD (Godhood) is a NATURE, much like MAN (manhood or mankind) is a NATURE.

In the NATURE of GOD (Godhood) there are only three persons, the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

In the NATURE of MAN (manhood or mankind) there are over 6 billion distinct persons.

father son holy spirit nature manhood mankind 6 distinct persons

father son holy spirit nature manhood mankind 6 distinct persons

    All one person.

You answer should say all one being. God the father and his word that became flesh the son and the love of his word the holy spirit. All in one. God.

God, Elohim, is a Spirit. He is one God, there can be no other gods beside Him. God, while being One god, has manifest Himself to all creation as three distinct persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Where one person of the triune Godhead is present, all three are present. He is three persons but one God. Jesus Christ is God incarnate. He is the Son of the eternal Godhead who came to earth, taking on Himself a human body for the purpose of offering Himself as the ultimate sacrifice for man's sins and thereby reconciling man to God. But that reconciliation can only be received by putting our faith and complete trust in Him. He is not one person and He is not three different Gods. He,God, is one God in three persons.

    All one person.

My understanding, is that all three are the one God. The trinity. God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit! The son, lives within you, and gives you a christian perspective on life; the Holy Spirit is your spirit, or soul, sent by God the father. God, the son, (Jesus) actually was born on earth, and spent his whole life as a human. The life of Jesus the son, is very well documented.

    Three different beings.

But one in purpose, in message, and in love.

In the Garden of Gethsemane, Jesus prayed that His disciples would be one even as He and the Father are one - that obviously doesn't mean that His disciples would become one person, ever, but that they would be in agreement about the truth, teach the same truth, and share in God's love for one another and their fellow man.

I believe you're correct. Our finite minds can't fully understand an infinite being like God. One thing is for sure though, God exists whether we can understand Him or not.

My bad, I just hate questions of religion that could be answered simply by going to the church.

I know the baptists and other faiths like to "witness" to people. I have the opposite belief. You wanna learn about it, you gotta go through the proper channels.

Father Dion or Father Heely of my Parish would be happy to answer your questions.
