    I wouldn't go to a parade with hetrosexuals half naked and touting sex acts... I certainly don't want to see half naked gays.. touting their bedroom behavior... they see their whole identity by their genitals... sorry... that is SAD... and shameful... not something to be proud of.

    This is normal stuff in places like San Francisco, New York, Seattle, etc. Why should I care? I just don't go to those places. I'll stick to my Tea Party events.

    I have never been to one. I don't know if they are all like the one in the picture. Assuming that at least some of them are like the picture, I think they harm the cause more than help it. The more sexul and bombastic the behavior, the more attention it gets, but also the more it perpetuates the idea that gay people are immoral and deviant. I don't think that is their objective. The gay folks I know, don't act that way. I would think they would want to get away from that perception as much as possible.

    I am gay, I don't care for gay parades I went to a few. I learned that as in hetero communities there are people who are different from me. Some like to be flaming homos, some like to show their like for kink, some like to wear skimpy bikinis, gay or straight it comes in both communities. I don't care for it so I DONT ATTEND. I never got hurt or saw anything I didn't see in hetero sexualized events. It wasn't my thing but I don't thing anyone has a right to try to prevent people from expressing themselves.

    I don't have a problem with it. I was only questioning the method they were using to achieve what ever goal they were trying to accomplish. If they are just trying to express themselves, I guess it worked. If they are trying to get people to accept them, or send some type of message, I think their method needs work. I am not judging the people, just questioning the purpose.

    Gay people and activist work all year long, this is just a summertime party they throw to have fun and celebrate anyone including heteros are welcome, if you don't like seeing you don't have to go, watch it on TV or look up the pics on the internet.

    Like I said I am gay, and I don't attend these events, the only time I see these flamboyant pics is when angry heteros post them. Seems they spend more time than I do looking up gay pics.

    Especially giving them all the publicity they're after.

    "Gay" or "straight," that kind of public anatomical display is shameful, anyway. Sex is too good and too important for people to hang it out in public like that. You have to wonder just how comfortable those who take part in such a parade really are.

    Gay pride parades serve a purpose. They are thrown to show that there is nothing wrong with being of a different sexual orientation and to get that message out to those who need it, such as the suicides of those who struggled with their orientation. As for the parades themselves, if you don't like them my advice to you would be to either get over it or don't watch it.

    I've never been to one, but have seen bits of them in videos, etc. From what I've seen they are lewd. I believe it is to get our attention. And it does! Lewdness is disgusting, no matter WHO it is being lewd.

    I think also that such grotesque displays of public lewdness serve only to reinforce weird stereotypes and, as such, accomplish quite the opposite of pride.
