There are few polls that I would believe these days. Those conducted by the media are more often than not biased towards a candidate - often with 'loaded' answers to go with their 'loaded' questions.

-Some- are accurate. They're performed in a professional and clinical manner and analyzed accurately. To make the determination, I look for things like their sample number (how many were polled), how the polling was done, and was the sample taken from several places and several populations. No offense to people from California, but that State is -hardly- indicative of the rest of the US. So if a poll only took into account citizens of California, then it's worthless for anywhere else, and is being reported to bias other regions.

The numbers seem to be reflective of the people I know, however polls cannot be trusted too much. You have no doubt seen how so many people skew their polls on SH with answers completely one sided.

You're kidding me, right? Anyone can make any poll lean in the exact direction they want to. They determine how to phrase their question and who their target audience is.

I'm sure in the liberal bastions that are New York and California, the poll would be overwhelming that Obama will be raising his hand on 20 January, 2009.

However, with the help of "informed" SH's such as yourselves, those misguided by the dinosaur media really shouldn't count their "roost"ed chickens before they hatch!

look at the main SH poll McCain vs. Obama.... it is the exact same precentage numbers that the news are showing.... And SH is a little more skewered to the right.

I think the race will be close for the drama effect, but Obama already said he was going to be in there for the next 8 years so lets wait and see.

The polls are greatly skewed especially Newsweek. Karl Rove was on the O Reilly Factor tonight and was talking about this very subject, as of today Obama is up 3 to 4 points to McCain but that may change due to his latest flip flopping. Many people are getting discouraged with Obama’s earlier claims to be different when he is proving to be the same old same old.

    TimothyKCCT,
I'm not sure the rest of the SH's here would appreciate this, but I know you will...
As an honest broker of the political landscape, can you truly say that the MSM have been entirely fair and balanced in their coverage of the Republican side of this race? No side, Democrat nor Republican can lay claim to being correct 100 percent of the time. However, under the Bush Administration, and a Repulican-led Congress, our economy has soared to record gains. He gets no credit for that in the MSM. It's only after the "new day" Democrats took over that the economy is in the state it's in today and price of gas has nearly doubled in a year. Once again, its Bush's fault. That kind of monolithic contempt is beneath the dignity of a fair-mind press. Sounds to me like James Callender's coverage of Thomas Jefferson's second Adminstration.

I am not surprised Obama is leading McCain but I doubt that it is by 40% The worse the economy gets the more difficult it is going to get for McCain. Fair or not most people equate the state of the economy with the party of the sitting president.
