“So the austerity drive in Britain isn’t really about debt and deficits at all;
it’s about using deficit panic as an excuse to dismantle social programs. And
this is, of course, exactly the same thing that has been happening in
America.”

since the No.1 Ron Paul supporter posting on my blog has blocked me from answering him (coward)... I will take the liberty of posting my reply HERE... since I CAN.

This illustrates EXACTLY my point with the article... conservatives (especially Ron Paul Conservatives, the most RADICAL of them all) want to dismantle our social programs and are using the debt as and excuse to do just that.

I urge everyone to READ what No.1 RP supporter has in mind for America and and then ask yourself if this is your idea of what it means to be an American.

There is nothing wrong with America that cannot be fixed by what is right with America -- Barrack Obama

Conservatives have railed against every social program. Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, food stamps, Chip, Wic, the ACA now, and on and on. It interferes with their creation of more wealth for the rich, and the bloating the military/industrial complex. Just read the 260 pages of Ryan's budget and you'll see their plan for America if ever in total power. They are only concerned about debt and deficits when out of power when then it gives them the rhetoric to attack all these social programs. GOP Austerity like applied in Europe will put on a par with Greece, and Spain, and has already put the UK into a double dip recession. It will increase not decrease unemployment.

Please, anyone, inform me of the article of the constitution that gave congress the power to spend taxpayers money on objects of benevolence, because I can not find it, and neither could the person refered to as the father of the constitution.

"I cannot undertake to lay my finger on that article of the Constitution which granted a right to Congress of expending, on objects of benevolence, the money of their constituents." - James Madison criticizing an attempt to grant public monies for charitable means, 1794

If they cared about the debt, they would raise taxes on the richest in the country, and close tax loopholes that allow giant corporations from paying anything in taxes while moving jobs to other countries. Instead, they call them "job creators" and blame the poor for being poor.

Do Conservatives Worship Wealth over everything else? Damn Right they do..beginning with Reagan, the Conservative Ultimate Objective has been to Reduce the American Standard of Living of the Average American to that of the Economic Level of THAT of the Worlds Cheap Labor Force.the American,Arrogant,Self Absorbed,Blinded by Religious,Color, and Economic Prejudiced Workers continue to Vote against their own best economic interest.Time has arrived, where these RWNJs have run out of excuses for their stupidity.and efforts to save their themselves from their selves.it is time for them and the Poor who refuse to make the Effort to Vote and Improve their circumstances to they pay the price.

Republicans have had no power since 2006. Capitalism will save the country. Socialism will destroy it. If you want to see the results of democrat rule look at California, Illinois or Detroit.

The day the democrats took over was not January 22nd 2009, it was actually January 3, 2007... the day the Democrats took over the House of Representatives and the Senate, at the very start of the 110th Congress.

The Democrat Party controlled a majority in both chambers for the first time since the end of the 103rd Congress in 1995.

For those who are listening to the liberals propagating the fallacy that everything is "Bush's Fault", think about this: January 3rd, 2007 was the day the Democrats took over the Senate and the Congress. At the time:

The DOW Jones closed at 12,621.77 The GDP for the previous quarter was 3.5% The Unemployment rate was 4.6%

George Bush's Economic policies SET A RECORD of 52 STRAIGHT MONTHS of JOB GROWTH.

January 3rd, 2007 was the day that Barney Frank took over the House Financial Services Committee and Chris Dodd took over the Senate Banking Committee.

The economic meltdown that happened 15 months later was in what part of the economy? BANKING AND FINANCIAL SERVICES!

Unemployment... to this CRISIS by (among MANY other things) dumping 5-6 TRILLION Dollars of toxic loans on the economy from YOUR Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac FIASCOES!

Bush asked Congress 17 TIMES to stop Fannie & Freddie - starting in 2001 because it was financially risky for the US economy.

    And wh...

Bush asked Congress 17 TIMES to stop Fannie & Freddie - starting in 2001 because it was financially risky for the US economy.

And who took the THIRD highest pay-off from Fannie Mae AND Freddie Mac? OBAMA And who fought against reform of Fannie and Freddie? OBAMA and the Democrat Congress So when someone tries to blame Bush.. REMEMBER JANUARY 3rd, 2007.... THE DAY THE DEMOCRATS TOOK OVER!" Budgets do not come from the White House. They come from Congress, and the party that controlled Congress since January 2007 is the Democrat Party.

Furthermore, the Democrats controlled the budget process for 2008 & 2009 as well as 2010 & 2011. In that first year, they had to contend with George Bush, which caused them to compromise on spending, when Bush somewhat belatedly got tough on spending increases.

For 2009 though, Nancy Pelosi & Harry Reid bypassed George Bush entirely, passing continuing resolutions to keep government running until Barack Obama could take office. At that time, they passed a massive omnibus spending bill to complete the 2009 budgets.

And where was Barack Obama during this time? He was a member of that very Congress that passed all of these massive spending bills, and he signed the omnibus bill as President to complete 2009.

If the Democrats inherited any deficit, it was the 2007 deficit, the last of the Republican budgets. That deficit was the lowest in five years, and the fourth straight decline in deficit spending. After that, Democrats in Congress took control of spending, and that includes Barack Obama, who voted for the budgets.

If Obama inherited anything, he inherited it from himself. In a nutshell, what Obama is saying is "I inherited a deficit that I voted for and then I voted to expand that deficit four-fold since January 20th."

Kane excellent job.you are becoming a worthy adversary.now!here is the basic problem.Dems are not controlled like Repubs by their Nat'l Committee Providing Re-/ Election Funding.therefore,Dems do not Vote in Lock Step.to unlock their Motivation for certain Votes, you must identify the Dem/Rep/Sen and the dominate Powerful Industry in their State.you will find Dem/Reps/Sens Bought and Paid For by those Industries.meaning in many instances Dems voted against their supporters.and for the Big Industry.there lies the Problem.and the hole in your Argument.these are called Blue Dogs.Dems voting with Republicans.investigate this process and we are on Target for an Intelligent discussion.Sen.D -Lieberman Insurance and Finance,Nelson,D. Health Care.etc. Good Job.we don't have to agree.the objective between intelligent people is to share ideas and learn.the RWNJs steeped in their beliefs of Yesterday are too ignorant and stupid to follow that thinking.
