Are conservatives preyed on their prejudices?

The GOP continues it's assault on the middle class and American freedoms. They back the 1%ers at the expense of the rest of us. They have a war on American voters, they take away the rights of Americans to vote for government officials. They have attacked education as a good thing.

The assault on the middle class is shown by the Ryan budget that takes trillions from the have nots, giving trillions in tax breaks for the top incomes. They prey on conservative voters by calling the needy welfare leeches. They call the president Obama the food stamp president when it is they that allowed banks to gamble getting a 9% return destroying the economy putting more people on food stamps. They demonize Muslims, gays, unions, as destroying the American way of life, American prosperity, when their policies have caused the damage and no jobs came from the supposed job creators. Unions are not allowed to petition the government (no collective bargaining), not allowed to have non dues payers not vote for labor reps (Boy Scouts of America vs Dale allows assemblies to decide themselves who qualifies).

They back the 1%ers by writing better tax breaks for outsourced income, a Romney tax plan that cuts his taxes ends the EIC, makes medicaid cuts that throw people out of nursing homes. Debt increases of 800 billion annually are fine extending the Dubya tax cuts as long as the top gets it's 140 billion. The big WH deal had entitlement cuts, other spending cuts totaling 3.3 trillion in exchange for a shared pain loophole closing 800 billion in revenue. The GOP house walked away from it passing a less than trillion spending cuts only bill that lost AAA with S&P.; CEOs can write off their private jet costs while working Americans can't write off the cost of transportation going to work. The unemployed are held hostage to paying for our bills with debt ceiling increases. Payroll tax reduction is only for two months till another demand can be drawn up by the GOP. The unemployed worker laid off with $50,000 household income pays his 25%, unemployed Romney making a 21 million dollar income pays 14%, that is not fair but all you hear is class warfare from the GOP.

The GOP has a war on American voters forcing people that have for decades voted now get documentation and photo IDs from mostly DMVs, which have been closed in mostly blue poor areas making it harder to obtain. They have put draconian fines in FL for not updating the voter database in 48 hours. Same day registration was taken away and voted back into law by the people in ME. Their bogus excuse is voter fraud which actually is less than 1/8 of 1%. More than 5% of votes are lost or miscounted, Iowa being a prime example. The MI state legislature (the Reichstag) gave the governor (the Fuhrer) unlimited power to dissolve locally elected governments on his word alone, replacing them with his people (SS) to govern locally. A local government by the people does not exist in many locales in MI.

Teachers are hard working educators that take money from their own pockets to help educate our children. They have been demonized as union thugs, have had state funding cut by billions. In one district in PA teachers still came to teach even when they had no paycheck coming from draconian teacher cuts. The few charter schools in that district got the funding and who knows if they were profit makers or not. Pell grants have been cut, low interest rates on student loans not renew and expire this summer. The tax credit for college student families has yet to be renewed. The GOP only wants those with means to have good educations, poor areas get no help. All this in the name of fiscal responsibility. Longterm if fewer kids graduate college they will earn a million less in their lifetimes reducing the tax base. The GOP position is absurd.

"I see in the near future a crisis approaching that unnerves me and
causes me to tremble for the safety of my country. . . . corporations
have been enthroned and an era of corruption in high places will follow,
and the money power of the country will endeavor to prolong its reign
by working upon the prejudices of the people until all wealth is
aggregated in a few hands and the Republic is destroyed."
-- U.S. President Abraham Lincoln, Nov. 21, 1864

Whether gays, Muslims, minorities, unions, the poor, they all get demonized by the GOP as does the president. Lies about them flow like water down the Mississippi. The GOP is very good at playing their base on their biases, very bad at governing for any that look.

It amazes me that there are so many people who support the people out to disenfranchise them. They just don't get it; they are either being manipulated and don't know it, or just don't care, with the 'Anybody but Obama' attitude.

I'm not real happy with BO, but what the GOP is doing and proposing is scary.
