Are Conservatives more ideological than Progressives?

We've seen conservative ideas work and we've seen progressive ideas work. The only thing is, progressives aren't afraid to try something new to see if they can improve upon something whereas conservatives would rather just stay the course.

This is the only option I could select because of the terrible poll options. What I really want to say, is that conservatives rely more on internally consistent principles, whereas the over-arching motivations for Progressives are more about POWER in general than how it is used. That's why both Theodore Roosevelt and Barack Obama, people with very different ideas, can both be classified as Progressives.

Life is simpler as a conservative because there are established principles to live by and which work. The complication comes from The Left's looney notions about egalitarianism and ideas about how to spend other people's money or to just print more.

CONSERVATIVES – believe in personal responsibility, limited government, free markets, individual liberty, traditional American values and a strong national defense. Believe the role of government should be to provide people the freedom necessary to pursue their own goals.Conservative policies generally emphasize empowerment of the individual to solve problems. Government is the problem !!!!!!
