I really think they are misled and just can't help it ... they vote against their self interest due to their bias mindset. Behavior is learned ... I am hopeful though ... that their ideology is dying ... a slow, pathetic death but it is dying ... and if America continues to progress as I think it will.... As slowly as America does ... the misled will change for the better.

They could help it if they would only open up their minds and listen to other sources of news. It might also help if they boned up on history and on the basics of the economy. They would clearly see at which times the economy boomed and when it crashed. If they just did a little real research and could view it with an open mind I think they might be persuaded to rethink or at least consider that some of the things liberal/progressives say are true.

We are all products of our environment, and believe what we are taught in our homes. If we are raised in ignorance we will probably be ignorant unless we look outside the box and look other avenues.

Take a closer look at why the chart is like that, and quit swallowing the misleading crap fed to you that Obama did all the spending. Romney has no plan to curtail our National debt, changing panties in the White House at this crucial time will cost more money, Obama is actually doing a decent job considering an uncooperative Congress. I strongly believe Romney and his Party will lead us into anouther unwanted war, and seperate this country more with class difference and shrinking the middle class more.
You want to do something worthwhile in November, clean house in Congress. Both parties, get some new motivated young people in there. Please note: BOTH parties

Ok, let's look a little closer. From 2007 - 2010, it was a Democrat controlled congress. Regardless of the fact that Republicans took control of the House in 2011, Obama can't get ONE vote from a Democrat controlled Senate for his budget proposal for fiscal year 2013. That says volumes about Obama's spend, spend, spend agenda. We can't afford another $1+ trillion budget deficit. BTW, I completely agree with you about weeding out career politicians (both parties) that still think that government is 'the solution' to 'the problem'.

You have been misled, Obama has been the least spender in the last 31 years. W, was the biggest spender then Reagan 2nd have been the biggest spenders, HW just behind them, then Clinton, and then Obama.

The 2009 budget was your heroes budget. I know you guys like to cheat on the truth but facts are facts. Obama had nothing to do with 2009 budget. Obama's average spending per year is 1.4% Jr's average 10.6% a year

In 2008, Obama said (regarding Bush's 8 years in office) that adding $4 trillion in debt was irresponsible and unpatriotic. Obama has added almost $6 trillion in less than 4 years. Real numbers don't lie.

Obama can't play the blame game forever. I swear, he sounds like my 18 year old that can't own up to anything. If he signed it, he should own it, period!

    obama faults everyone

For one thing Jr's debt was 5 trillion so don't try and make it sound better by cheating it down a trillion. Much of the debt under Obama is from Jr's borrowing. I know that doesn't fit in with your gangs propaganda, but your hero started 2 wars 2 large tax cuts for the wealthy, a big give away to the pharmaceutical company's, then to top it off he ended up with the worst recession since the great depression, millions out of work and not paying any taxes. This country has the least taxes coming into the treasury since 1950. So all this has led to a bloated debt. This would be the case if McCain was president. Bills have to be paid.
  • dheydrick fudge35 2012/05/31 21:07:42
    dheydrick
Smaller government and a balanced budget equates to lower bills that have to be paid. That's not what Obama is about. That's not what liberals and progressives are about. Quite the opposite. That has to change or, as with the last 3 1/2 years, it's not going to get any better.

God you guys make laugh a lot. Your masters have fooled you. The Republican administrations have always gone to bigger government, and always run up the debt more then the Democrats. But I know they don't tell you that, and you believe that crap.

When I became a Goldwater Republican, the GOP was the "party of reason". Yes, the majority of my party seem to have abandoned reason, but "conservatism" is anything but unreasonable on many issues. Fiscal conservatism is the epitome of sanity.

If the republicans take over, they will privatize education, cut taxes on the rich again, cut medicare drastically, try to privatize social security, make a total mess of the country, get voted out in 2 years, and will elect another democratic president in 6 years. How many times have democratic presidents got us out of the mess republicans put us in?

You are the one that is misled, can't you see what his spending spree has done to this country. $5. trillion last year. This president is digging the hole deeper. Get out while you can. He is nothing but a mass of lies. Read his book " Dreams from My Father" Find out just who this Socialist is. Every good American knows and will vote against these Progressive Socialists. Even Hillary said when she was running for office that she was a Progressive. Find our for yourself, don't take my word.

The dow is going stronger than it ever has. The rich are twice as rich as when Obama took office, and since he took office, our spending has flatlined. He is blamed for all the other presidents deficit spending. They now have proof of that. The private sector has grown while federal and public sector jobs have been cut by 607,000. How in the heck is he a socialist. You dont know what you are talking about.

Yes, and it is solid evidence of the effectiveness of propaganda. If you listen close enough, the "conservative" leadership always subtly tells us what they are really about. "Ya gotta catapult the propaganda," said G,W. Bush, in one of those very rare moments of honesty. See: http://www.thedailyshow.com/w...

And for you righties, no, the video is not edited. You can find it, and the transcript of his speech, in many places, but not likely on Fox News websites, as it is the RNC's main propaganda outlet.

Liberals seem to be much more misled and distracted by shiny baubles like new things the government can give them for free not realizing that with each 'gift' they exchange a bit of their freedom for it.
Luckily conservatism is on the rise and Liberals are dying out, the Failures of Obama have driven more people to the conservative side as shown here:

I think conservatives have been letting things go for a long time and have finally woken up. They don't like what they are hearing and are fact checking the lame stream media. Liberals, on the other hand, like what they hear so they don't bother to fact check. And they get violently angry when someone has a different opinion. I have been threatened, insulted and generally disrespected after just one comment. I wonder about the maturity of many of the bloggers on SH....from both sides.

I try to do the same.....problem is, that after awhile you get a little slap happy. I lit into another blogger who was actually agreeing with me....talk about egg on the face. I just finished apologizing to him. It would be nice if we could really have a sharing of information without the threats, put downs, name calling and insults. I guess the subject matter is just to volatile and it doesn't help that lame stream media whips up the heat.

I guess I if I cant take the heat, I will eventually get out of this kitchen. Have a wonderful day.

All too often, I believe they choose to disbelieve that with which they disagree, or which makes them uncomfortable, or otherwise upsets or contradicts their worldview. I personally know many that cannot be swayed by facts once they have made up their mind. Literally, hard facts that contradict what they BELIEVE will not make them change their mind. Unfortunately, all too often, they vote what they believe to be true.
