Children should be focusing on their school work & homework when they get home from school. For the teenagers, school should be their top priority. The labor laws in NYS ensure that if a teen chooses to have a p/t job they still have adequate time to get their homework done.

Its just it feels so easy for some bad parents, to take advantage of that. Aren't parents allowed to take earned money away from their children?
Not only that, work interfers with education.

If Americans do not like the fact that I have 3 year old's working at my septic tank cleaning company they can choose to hire else where.

We had better health and ethics when more kids grew up on with responsabilities like farm chores. Maybe thats why these new laws do not apply to the Amish (riiiiiight).
