I think both the atheists and fundamentalists have a real short sighted view of the world. They are more related than what appears to separate them.

A funny thing happens when you stop pushing your religion at atheists. They stop having to push back, and enjoy being left alone. Try it.
Thankfully (since we're blanketing groups) Christians have? LOL.
I think certain atheists can be radical
Much like radical Christians. jews. muslims, etc. anyone of any sect can be radical
Martin Luther King was a radical, Malcom X was a radical
One was Christian, one converted to Islam
Both promoted equality albeit in different ways
Radicalism in and of itself is not bad....its how one uses their radicalism.
So yes, I think atheists have the potential to be radically bad than radical fundamentalists of religions
I have seen different kinds of atheists, some are more tolerant than others.
I was an atheist at one point.
Not about atheism, they can't. Atheism is just lack of belief in gods.
"Much like radical Christians. jews. muslims, etc"
Rubbish. Those people advocate murder, and carry it out. Haven't you noticed the difference between that, and people who use words and ideas to fight back against it? Come on.
If, for example, you believe that it is all or nothing- that if every word printed in the bible is both historically and scientifically accurate- and if it is not, then nothing is correct- then it is easy to see how a disillusioned fundamentalist would easily adopt an atheistic viewpoint.
I have met both religious people and atheists who have to push their beliefs- and I have met atheists and religious people who respect other's beliefs
Not even close. They are complete opposites. Come on Frank, you're smarter than this sort of pap.
I have to tell you, I have traveled around this country a little bit. I have seen crucifixes and stars of David, etc., etc. Not once have I ever heard of an atheist demanding that a church remove the crucifix from the top of a steeple.
If there is any evidence that anyone ever demanded that all religious symbols be removed from public view, please cite it.
