I'm going to agree to disagree ... the Constitution says "natural born citizen"...it means born of two citizen parents. Rubio is an anchor baby because he was born here but his parents were not citizens at the time of his birth which means he is a "citizen", but not a "natural born citizen".

This is liberal double-speak to try to justify Obie's illegal occupation of the White House.

Chester Arthur was the 21st President of the United States. He became President after James Garfield was assassinated. His father was born in Northern Ireland and he didn't become a citizen until Chester was 14. Then we have the first presidential nominee of the Republican Party, in 1856, was John Charles Fremont. He was born in South Carolina to an American mother and a French father. Jean Charles Fremon was born a French citizen, near Lyon, France. He was not a U.S. citizen at the time of his son’s birth and never did become a citizen. Abraham Lincoln campaigned for Fremont. All the founders of the Republican Party campaigned for Fremont. One would be hard-pressed to find any suggestion at the time that Fremont’s birth made him ineligible for the presidency.

So can we stop this non-sense?

Mario Rubio is a TRAITOR to America who not only puts the interests of foreign nationals here illegally ahead of our nation's best interests, trying to attract more job-stealing illegals here with amnesty and the Dream Act, but also Rubio has even been diabolically trying to block our nation from defending itself against the illegal alien invasion.

    See:
    http://www.sodahead.com/unite...

If ignorance about Rubio's dastardly treachery and his treasonous misconduct was your excuse for supporting him, then all you need to do is admit you made a mistake, then chart another course.

For if now you still support that vile traitor to America, knowing full well what he's been doing and what he is trying to do, then you too are a TRAITOR to America. There's no way to sugar-coat the truth. Nor should those who love America be shy of "hurting the feelings" of those who are trying to hurt America.

I just created this topic question,

"Are those who support TRAITORS to America like Mario Rubio, who puts the interests of foreign nationals here illegally ahead of our nation's best interests, TRAITORS themselves?,"

Now that Mitt Romney has become the presumptive Republican nominee, there is speculation that the junior senator from Florida will be his running mate. Marco Rubio’s parents were from Cuba and did not become U.S. citizens until he was four years old. Voices from the fringe are claiming that this means Rubio is not eligible – and they’re wrong.

Marco Rubio was born is Miami, Florida. He is, therefore, a natural born citizen of the United States. Per the Constitution, the citizenship status of his parents (or grandparents or anyone but himself) is irrelevant.

Your criteria is basically the "anchor baby" birthright citizenship argument for U.S. citizenship, but not qualifying him for president or VP.

Far more importantly, Rubio is a TRAITOR to America who puts the interests of foreign nationals here illegally ahead of our nation's best interests.

And that is why our forefathers insisted on "natural born citizens" as the requirement for eligibility as Pres. and VP.

The Naturalization Act in 1790 (John Jay) states that a person doesnt need to be born on American soil but must have American parents. In 1866 John Bingham (rep from Ohio) repealed the law and it was called the Civil Rights Act, it states that a person is a natural born citizen if born within the jurisdiction of US, of parents not owing allegiance to any foreign sovereign

Society not being able to subsist and perpetuate itself, but by the children of its citizens, those children naturally follow the condition of their fathers, and succeed to all their rights. The country of the fathers is therefore that of the children, and these become true citizens merely by their tacit consent.

A Natural Born Citizen is one who is born of citizen parents. A child born abroad to two US citizen parents is a natural-born citizen: Provided, That at least one citizen parent had a prior residence in the United States or one of its outlying possessions. U.S. Code: Title 8, 1401.

"states that a person is a natural born citizen if born within the jurisdiction of US, of parents not owing allegiance to any foreign sovereign"

If the parents are NOT CITIZENS of the US....they owe allegiance to their country of origin as they are citizens of that country.....no matter where they live, if they have not attained citizenship in America!

You are correct. Rubio's parents were naturalized three years after his birth. Of course, Obama is not eligible to be president either.

A Natural Born Citizen is one who is born of citizen parents. A child born abroad to two US citizen parents is a natural-born citizen: Provided, That at least one citizen parent had a prior residence in the United States or one of its outlying possessions. U.S. Code: Title 8, 1401.

Thank you...I don't know why they don't get it. I think it's the word "natural" that confuses them.
They think any child born here is a "natural born citizen"....NOT! They confuse it with anchor babies who are citizens because they were born here...but do not come under the heading of "natural born citizens" because their parents were not citizens when they were born!

Also why OBAMA is ineligible...his father was not a US citizen when he was born!
