Anti-Obama Film Beats Other Debuts: Are You Interested in Seeing It?

This weekend, as movie goers were choosing between Sylvester Stallone, Dax Shepard and Joseph Gordon-Levitt, another leading man slipped in and surprisingly made a big splash: President Barack Obama. "2016: Obama's America," a conservative critique of the current administration, placed eighth overall and took in $6.2 million, more money than several other films premiering last Friday.

barack Obama

The documentary beat out newcomers "Hit & Run," which made only $4.7 million, and "The Apparition," which earned only $3 million. Some credit the success of the movie to weak offerings of summer flicks but others attribute it to the distaste the country has for the current president. The film is a right-leaning hypothetical look at what the country may be like in four years if Obama stays in office.

But if Republicans are hoping this is a measurement of their party’s potential electoral success, they should be aware that “Fahrenheit 9/11,” an attack on Bush politics, opened at $23.9 million in 2004. The wide release of "2016: Obama's America" was timed to align with the Republican National Convention which began Monday in Tampa, Florida, and those involved hope the event will give the film and the campaign a boost. What do you think: Are you interested in seeing "2016: Obama's America"?

Of course! It should make a GREAT comedy! I could use a good laugh.

Let's kick it up a notch and make it a drinking game, folks!

Every time Obama is compared to communism, take a drink.
Every time his birth certificate is mentioned, take a sip. (trust me, any drink bigger than a sip will kill you I'm sure if I predict how much THAT will be overused.)
If they actually try calling him a "Muslim Jihadist" at any time, finish your drink and pour another. If they mention only one of the two, drink for three seconds.
If the debt ceiling is mentioned, take a sip. (another overused one)
If someone with a southern accent comes on, take a drink. If said person fits the stereotypical right-wing cookie cutter mold they've crafted themselves, finish your drink.

Finally, for every Liberal, Democrat, Progressive, or overall left-wing criticism, take a sip; or if it's an outright insult, take a good-sized drink.

    Cheers!

Just watched the movie. Very well constructed from beginning to end. All makes sense what Obama is trying to doing. Very subtle or the Americans would not continue to support him. They are blinded by his subtlety.

I have been researching Obama since he first ran for office in 2008. I was shocked how much information is out there...much in his own words/quotes from his books that reveal the person he is and beliefs he has about socialism, communism and marxism. I am not extremely intellectual, but more a realist. It simply shocked me that the numbers of people that continue to support him and that the media dismisses this crutial information and his known and admitted alliances/history with a convicted terrorist, anti american spiritual leader and other questionable associates. I find it hypocritical of him to to demand Romney's tax returns while in the midst of paying multi-millions of dollars to keep secret and sealed all his college transcripts and information from his college years.
View this video and read his books and then ask youself if you still want this person to lead your country.

Thank you for your suggestion, I did just that, but found nothing in the reviews to sway me away from my original answer of "yes" I would like to see it. I will be sure to post a review there once I do get a chance to get to the theatre. Thanks again for the heads up.

Obama had no experience that would qualify him to run anything. At this point in Reagan's term we had 7.9% growth. The things Obama is doing have never worked anywhere anytime in history. We need to replace Obama with a competent person before it's too late. We need jobs not bigger debt or more handouts we have to borrow to pay for.

If you know people who have not see this Movie Documentary you need to be spreading the word and get your Friends and Family to see the movie. Pay their way if you have too. We do not have 4 more years to give Obama. This is a fact based Documentary much of it narrated by Obama himself. Facts taken from the 2 books he has written.
BE INFORMED, GET EDUCATED ABOUT WHAT HE PLANS TO DO TO THIS COUNTRY IF HE IS RE ELECTED. This is not the old DEMOCRATIC PARTY ... This movie documentary was applauded by Democrats, Independents and Republicans.

SEE THE MOVIE DOCUMENTARY 2016 BEFORE YOU VOTE !!

I find it funny how you state the question..... immediatley considering it anti- obama rather that say it was merely a film on obama's life. So it can't just be generalized, immediatley you assume that the person presenting it is ANTI- Obama.

I already seen the movie. What I gather about the movie, the book Obama wrote Dream of my father tells me Obama is trying to full fill his father dream and that is to bring United State down because his father resent British Colonial over Kenya. Obama only saw his father once and his mother kept speaking about his father to Obama. Obama didn't really know his father.

He didn't talk to Obama because Obama is a liar, Obama didn't know his father, his father only saw him once. The director went direct to the people in Kenya and talk to the people there, even his half brother said their father resent British over Kenya and now that Kenya was liberate they are worst off now then when they were under the British.

Actually, it's the republican version of Fahrenheit 451 by Michael Moore, which was a hit piece on George W. Bush - just like this is a hit piece on Obama.

I love you right wingers. You are able to deney every single fact that comes at you but when it comes to one bullspit story that Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh or any other RWNJ makes up, like this movie, you all believe it. Every scientist in the world including those that were working in the Bush administration has come to the conclusion that global climate change is real. The only people denying it are paid spokes people for the big oil, gas, and coal industry because it effects their bottom line.
