2 of the 3 cities that filed are run by republicans in a heavily conservative regions of California and the 3rd "Experts say that Mammoth Lakes’ filing should not be considered with the other two filings, as it was because of an unusual circumstance. A property developer had won a $43 million judgment against the town, which has slightly more than 8,000 residents" It though is also a conservative town and the developer was most likely one of your kind.

Sorry but it looks like the riches did not trickle down from the rich in these impoverished republican cities.

California is a house of cards. Their liberal ways of tax, spend and regulate is taking them down. They have thousands of teacher retired drawing more than 100 thousand a year in retirement benefits. They have one President of a university that is drawing $547,000 a year in retirement benefits. Many others beside the ones that I have mentioned. It is long over do that this state to take action and get real.

Look at detroit, most of california and any other liberal place. You will notice few white faces, much multi-culturalims.

Anyone really need to guess what awaits america? We are california if something is not done. One thing hurting cali is the illegal immigration drain on hospitals, schools and so forth. A FINAL SOLUTION to the illegal immigration problem and their costs must be found if we are to survive.

I hope the electorate is seeing what happens when you over-spend and simply give away tax dollars without regard to the impact. Sometimes you just have to say no more.

I guess you could be right, I don't really know....but I do know that the stuff concerning CARB that comes from the liberal state govt is going to start killing the farmers. I am one of thousands of small (around 50 trucks) that is not going to haul product in or out of Calif. Their policies are simply too restrictive and focus on what's coming out of the tailpipe rather than conservation and using LESS fuel, which automatically leads to less pollution.

Of course. Government and economic unsustainability and instability result. The left hates the idea of finite resources for governments even as it claims resources for the private sector are more finite than they are. They are under the delusion that more government and less private sector is always good. They are really salivating over getting to use the new penalty taxes to dictate our diets and exercise, our investments, the cars we drive, the professions we go into, and someday they will wish to use it to influence who we will marry. Wouldn't that be the ultimate socialist power trip. They will get to chose who John will marry. Many a John may be startled to be paired up with Harry. The socialist just loves to choose other people's values and to micromanage their lives.

The issue is not who is running the council now, but who ran it into the ground in the first place.
