Anonymous Hackers Threaten to Take Down Tea Party Websites

Bill February 26, 2011 02:15:26

The Anonymous group known for hacking and taking down numerous websites including Paypal and Bank of America for blocking donation payments to the Wikileak owner Assange, the church of Scientology and their recent attack on the Westborro "God Hates Fags" church has now focused its attention on the Tea Party by posting this message to the Tea Party Patriots message board.

Attention Tea Party

We, the collective super-consciousness known as ANONYMOUS - the Voice of Free Speech & the Advocate of the People - have long heard you issue your venomous statements of hatred, and we have witnessed your flagrant and absurd displays of inimitable bigotry,, racism and intolerant fanaticism. We have always regarded you and your ilk as an assembly of graceless sociopaths and maniacal chauvinists & religious zealots, however benign, who act out for the sake of attention & in the name of a political movement.

Being such aggressive proponents for the Freedom of Speech & Freedom of Information as we are, we have hitherto allowed you to continue preaching your benighted gospel of hatred and your theatrical exhibitions of, not only your fascist views, but your utter lack of Christ-like attributes.

Your demonstrations and your unrelenting cascade of disparaging slurs, unfounded judgments, and prejudicial innuendos, which apparently apply to every individual numbered amongst the race of Man - except for yourselves - has frequently crossed the line which separates Freedom of Speech from deliberately utilizing the same tactics and methods of intimidation and mental & emotional abuse that have been previously exploited and employed by tyrants and dictators, fascists and terrorist organizations throughout history.

ANONYMOUS cannot abide this behavior any longer. The time for us to be idle spectators in your inhumane treatment of fellow Man has reached its apex, and we shall now be moved to action. Thus, we give you a warning: Cease & desist your protest campaign in the year 2011, return to your homes & close your public Web sites. Should you ignore this warning, you will meet with the vicious retaliatory arm of ANONYMOUS: We will target your public Websites, and the propaganda & detestable doctrine that you promote will be eradicated; the damage incurred will be irreversible, and neither your institution nor your activists will ever be able to fully recover. It is in your best interest to comply now, while the option to do so is still being offered, because we will not relent until you cease the conduction & promotion of all your bigoted operations & doctrines.

The warning has been given. What happens from here shall be determined by you.

Anonymous hackers have in the past completely shut down websites, copied member lists and re-posted names, addresses, phone numbers, billing and other personal information and released sensitive emails of their targets.

If they do hack the Tea Party Express and Tea Party Patriots websites I can just imagine what kind of damage they can do.

NOTE: this information was available on the Tea Party Patriot message board but has since been removed

ADDED: After doing some more research I found this article that says Anonymous has punished the Tea Party last year:

The Oregon Tea Party suffered the wrath
of Anonymous after it was discovered using the group's famous "We Are
Legion" slogan in official materials and merchandise.

Chances are that if you're reading this, you have at least a passing familiarity with Anonymous. For those who don't, it's a sort of internet meme/subculture type of
thing, strongly associated with 4chan, that commits acts both online and in the real world, sometimes good, sometimes bad and always "for the lulz." I don't really get it myself, to be quite honest, but I do know enough to stay out of its way.

The same can't be said for the Oregon Tea Party, however. For reasons unknown, although probably because it sounds cool and ominous, the conservative political protest group began using the slogan, "We are Anonymous. We are Legion. We do not forgive. We do not forget. Expect us." According to the Daily Kos,
the slogan first appeared on a sign at at Tea Party rally and before long it turned up on official Oregon Tea Party bumper stickers.

Yesterday, thanks to a Reddit user whose parents belong to the group, the Tea Party's use of the slogan was revealed to the world at large. From that point it was only a matter of time until 4Chan itself found out and soon, as the saying goes, the internet was there.

The Oregon Tea Party Facebook page was quickly subjected to an onslaught of image macros, desus, flames and herp derps, along with at least one message explaining why it was being smacked around. Within a couple of hours, the Tea Party had run up the white flag with a message reading, "Anonymous: We appreciate your resources and admire your tactics. You have taught us more than you know. As requested, we are no longer using the 'anonymous' quote."

The Oregon Tea Party's Facebook page is now gone completely and its Ning page,
where the use of the quote was confirmed as legitimate, has been limited to members-only access. The campaign was clearly a win and entertaining as always, but does anyone else find it disturbing that the Tea Party, which bills itself as a legitimate voice of conservative political dissent in the United States, "admires" the tactics of Anonymous?

I received TC for a comment supporting Anonymous. I support Anonymous... but unless the Tea Party is trying to suppress free speech they don't seem to have any genuine interest in them.

Anonymous includes all political ideologies. Anonymous isn't liberal. Anonymous isn't conservative.

If anything it is a sad attempt at the Tea Party to glean some publicity off of the back of a group that is highly popular right now.

Anonymous doesn't do politics. Anonymous is for freedom of speech and freedom of information. The Tea Party (as much as I dislike them) exercise their free speech and Anonymous has no qualms with that.

Freedom of Speech? Kind of ironic that their idea of freedom of speech is to shut others down. Typical - speech is only free to some if it agrees with their ideology.

I think the hackers should make ALL the accounts of the obscenely rich disappear and become unrecoverable. This would be the best service that they could provide for humanity. Pushing for legal dissolution of the repubican party would be a secondarily useful service. The repubicans have not worked for the people that pay their primary, legal salary for a very long time. If they can't perform their job descriptions they should be outlawed. The last honest republican was Abe Lincoln. Obviously true because they offed him. And the demoncratparty should take it as a lesson/ warning.

Actually the saddest part of this is that yes, the Tea Party didn't start off as this collection of imbeciles that have come to symbolize it. Originally it's point WAS economical. However it's easy for people to find a group whose beliefs are within an acceptable parallel to their own, latch on, and then twist those ideals into their own. I have to admit, I myself first supported it. Then it became (sigh) what it is today. A group who, whether rascist, zealous, ignorant, biased, can all come together to support the idea of completely villianizing one man and his administration. It's current agenda seems to be rather hard to distinguish but it is certainly not in line with what the original intent was.

They should beware! They represent a clear and present danger to all of us, and must never be allowed to make such decisions. They are descendants with a family lineage with only one agenda, money. They support the Military Industrial Complex and in return we are burdened with their debt as they receive tax incentives. The burden of war, after war destroying young families one after another, must stop now. The Bachman’s are another good example of absolutely mindless ethics and should be genetically wiped from this earthly equation. Tea Baggers!

what is the difference between anonymous and any other group that is supposedly out for truth, there is no such thing anymore, every group, politicians, friends, etc. will lie about anything they have to to get somewhere in life, sad but true this is what the world has come down to.Until we as people start to realize this it's only going to get worse

while it is true that there is nobody that will not lie about something or other the thing about anonymous is that its just that, anonymous. how can someone get ahead by using threats if they aren't showing who they are? anonymous doesn't fight for what they want. they fight for what the world needs.

i believe that every word that anonymous said is the absolute truth, that the skin heads and the kkk and every bigoted group that has been allowed to flurish in this country have banded together in a hitlerisk fashion to pick and choose which constitutional rights they wish to corrupt. i also think it's time someone said enough is enough and put them out of business. why aren't they being sued for liabel and plegerizm.? these are burn the church and hang people kind. they need to be stopped before they can infect anymore citizens with their stupidity.

And if you really believe what you just said then god help us,Anonymous is no different than the groups you listed, They resort to scare tactics and plain terroist threats as a way to get there message across just like the groups that you mentioned so really what is the difference

Ah yes I was wondering when someone would bring the U.S into this, The only difference is is that we have certain freedoms that alot of other countries don't have, but to answer your question yes the U.S is no different than anyone else, Just like athiest who are always suing because of the word god,Animal activist, enviromentallist, and the list just keeps going and going they all resort to terrorist threats either by word or by actions. Our own government you know the people that are for the people by the people use scare tactics to get there point across and why because we as the people are so used to the government telling us what is good for us that we have lost all common sense. so call it being un american or whatever you want the point is is that human beings all act the same. And if you get a bunch of nuts together then you have nutty ideas.when we learn to just live life instead of bickering then maybe just maybe this world could begin to get along.
  • AnonRanGER skye June 18, 2011 02:26:38
    AnonRanGER
Well, technically, you also LACK a lot of freedoms that other countries have, especially thanks to the Patriot Act, but that's kind of off topic.
I agree with your comment, but it's unrealistic to think that the human race will "just stop bickering", so for the time being, we do what we can to make the world a better place.
  • skye AnonRanGER June 18, 2011 02:37:55
    skye
Well thank you for agreeing with my comment and I also agree with you about it being unrealistic to think that the human race will just stop bickering And yes I also agree with you about the patriot act but that still doesn't make it ok to resort to terroristic and threatning acts to make the world a better place. There is always other ways and means to get the same desired effect.
  • AnonRanGER skye June 18, 2011 02:55:04
    AnonRanGER
    Like what?
If there were other ways, people would do things differently. Sadly, there aren't that many options in most cases.
And what exactly IS a "terrorist act" anyway?

Which atheists suing over the word 'god' are resorting to terrorist acts? Atheist terrorist is basically an oxymoron.
Also, AnonRanGER is right. Many countries DO have many rights that the US doesn't have. And I don't mean just because of the Patriot act. Like a right to be healthy. Have you ever lived outside the US? As in... think outside the box...

Oh, so atheist can't be terrorists? That's horribly in the box of you. So terrorism is now defined as a religious act? Good heavens! So all the people waging war on terror should just off those with belief in a higher power?

Love- grow up. Terrorism is the act of creating terror, which, fortunatey enough, is unbiased in terms of race, religion, color, or ideology. Think outside the box, yes?

When you are at war like we are now with those who are complicit in the active work to stop freedom of speech, and the draconian laws that arise from the subjugation of liberty. It is a matter of which side we chose.

However, free speech is free speech. The Tea Party although I may not agree with them, must have the same privileges as Anonymous espouses for its self and others. If they create laws which oppress, then intent is fulfilled, and action against such things must be taken.

So I may be time for Anonymous to create a Constitution that can be agreed upon which upholds the values they promote.

You are at a critical time, and support could falter if you falter and the very objectives which I personally agree with could die.
Keep up the fight, never surrender, no prisoners taken and no quarters given.

Impossible. Every Anonymous has different values - it's how many Anonymous support the same value and opinions that leads to action, no matter the direction.
Creating a "Constitution" would be totally pointless because it would be ignored by 99% of Anonymous. That sort of thing is directly opposed to what Anonymous is about.
