Maybe you were too busy gathering your wealth not to realize that for 40 years the Democrats held the majority when they along with the Republicans of that time, worked together to build a strong middle class, passed legislation to enable the American Dream. I personally don't give a fig how much money you have or how many businesses you can brag about, but you would have never achieved a quarter of that had it not been for the efforts and will of a government that once encouraged you to achieve it. You needed infrastructure and only the government was a large enough entity and a free one at that to ensure you got it.
