What a shame, Andy represented a simpler era in America, and American entertainment. The younger generations are still discovering the charms of living in Mayberry, thanks to eternal syndication. A show like that would never get made today. Hollywood nowadays holds middle America in contempt, something to ridicule and laugh at. Times were different then, and so were the people. Rest in peace, Andy.

Yeah, he was one of my favorite actors. I noticed a DVD of him and Don Knotts in "No time for Sergeants" last night at Wal-Mart and thought about him and realized that Don had passed away a couple of years ago.

Now Andy is gone too.

RIP Andy. We will miss you.

That is sad. My whole family really enjoyed his show.

My father, brother and I were talking about him yesterday at lunch about how much we liked the old show when it was still in black and white and Barney was still there. It is a shame how he was used by the Obama admin to push Obamacare; that was sad to see.

It's said tongue in cheek, Andy was a Super liberal. Although many Southern Democrats were conservative, they would still vote Democrat because of Lincoln. You live in MD, if you lived in Florida or Georgia it might make better sense to ya. However you are correct,nothing to be proud of.
