An Open Letter to Dr. Ron Paul

KCurtis 2012/06/11 23:53:12
Dear Dr. Paul,
I am just a mother and a grandmother who so loves this country and the concept of freedom that stands faithfully behind our lovely United States Constitution. While I respect your views, I also see that you have collected a vast and deep following of people over the course of your admirable career. But, I must ask you now to consider the path you have chosen and the priorities of it. I must ask that you define for those followers, what is the best path for the greater good of us, the American people. I have been involved in politics at a local level since the 1970’s. I have served on a public level, but rarely delved into the national level until 2008. Today with little experience, I run a PAC, a political action committee under the blanket of the independent grass roots movement of the Tea Party. I’ve been an independent voter for over 42 years over 10 election cycles voting for both Democrats and Republicans who hold a fiscal and Constitutional conservative ideology. Now I realize something critical to both the path and direction of this great country, I must chose a side that stands clearly against the progressive movement toward a foundation that squarely stands on the opposite side of Socialism, Marxism, Fascism and eventually Communism, and that stance falls on the Republican Party. While a presidency held by Governor Romney is not as conservative as I like, I recognize for the good of all of the US people; Mr. Romney is the only opportunity we have to continue to live under the Constitution I swore a pledge of allegiance to for the better part of my entire life. So I ask you, plain and simple, transparent, from the bottom of my heart to do the same. The people who follow you have clearly stood for the Constitution, but unfortunately they also blindly follow your direction and some are willing to follow that dedication to the end of the freedom. They as well as all Americans need your direction now. They need to be told you are no longer seeking the office of the President of the United States and they need to be given your choice of endorsement. Without this, all of what you have stood for will soon fall to the ashes of the end of this great nation, the end of a free people. Ronald Regan once said freedom was the last stand in the United States and here we are, at the end of the road. Those of us who never stood with either party now realize that another 4 years of a leftist, progressive presidency will end all that we have stood for, for the last 240 years. It’s time Dr. Paul, it’s time for you, like I, to make your choice.

You have no possible way to win your honorable fight. You have given your all and those on either side have lost, but we as Americans have lost the most. While I understand your attempts and respect your positions now is the time for all good men to come to the aid of their country; this includes you Dr. Paul. We need to be united so that we will live to vote another day. I urge you to come forward, admit your campaign is over and make an endorsement so that those people who blindly follow can make their choice. And if you have any bit of concern over the future of the US Constitution I ask that you give us a start to turn the paradigm back, to move the road toward a better, more conservative America and endorse Mitt Romney. While he is not the most conservative person to guide this nation through the extremely hard times, he is the most conservative candidate who can win and stop the liberal progressive regression of this country and move forward with the founding principles that we have always, and will hopefully always stand for.

Very best regards,

KCurtis, National Chairwoman
Tea Party PAC of USA

Of course Ron Paul first and foremost. Country last.

More like looking to the future instead of compromising for short-sighted temporary benefit. I understand lots of people struggle with that concept, but it is actually valuable.

I am looking to the future. 4 more years of Obama makes the future of this country very bleak. If Ron's idea of a future is to allow Obama to increase our debt another 5 trillion, I would have to question his intellect. So what is your picture of the future after Obama remains in control for 4 more years? Remember he will be unrestrained because he doesn't have to worry about re-election. What's that picture look like?

Whether Obama or Romney is elected, America will live on. Yeah, it's a rough time for everyone, and it has been, but let's not pretend like this is Armageddon for America.

Also, 4 years is an extremely short amount of time when considering the development of a country. Where will be in 30 years?

4 years is plenty of time for Obama to succeed, we're on our way right now. Obama will be completely unrestrained. He will throw the entire Constitution out, there will not be time enough for his laws to be overturned by the Supreme Court before we are buried. Not to mention the fact that he has 4 more years to appoint extreme leftists to the Supreme Court. Read this link and then tell me that this is not the road that we are on now. You can check for yourself how much our welfare and food stamp rolls have increased, how many more families are living in poverty in the last 3 years. This is the end run, it's now or never for this plan to succeed. Obama promised to "fundamentally change America,”.

The funniest thing about you is that you think Mitt Romney is what's best for this country. After 42 years I would think you'd understand that BOTH parties are owned and controlled by the same people. Ron Paul isn't fighting the Democrats, he's fighting the ESTABLISHMENT. That's what his movement is about, not just beating Obama, which to me is a pretty pathetic goal for the GOP. No ideas, no plans to improve the country, just slamming Obama and making his defeat their top priority.

No I see clearly, after 42 years I can honestly judge that Obama is not for anything that is vaguely considered American. I can't help it if Paulbots can't see the Forrest from the trees.

Talking to many Republicans at different caucuses, I found an overwhelming concern about the issues that Ron Paul talks about. Yet, the big bucks establishment has given out the directive to "kill" him.
What about Jim DeMint? What about Dick Armey and "Freedomworks"? They see the problem, they agree with Ron Paul on just about everything - and they tell us to vote for Romney? He will lead us over the cliff just as Obama will - enjoy!
Oh, and you're calling Paul supporters lemmings? LOL

This is the mentality that leads to the god awful political system we have today.

"Your candidate can't win, so please vote for the least smelly turd remaining."

Instead of voting for the person with the best platform, we insist on voting for the person with the best chance of winning based on the party they've joined and continue to use them as a stop gap to avoid the REALLY smelly turd winning.

I'd love to see what happens if everyone votes for the candidate they actually like the most.

Ron Paul needs to stay in if only to make a statement of his freedom of choice. What you speak of in this letter is almost dictatorship being born. When all opinions and decisions are left to one party and or one person it is dectatorship. When a political figure is told to do things or else...it is dictatorship. Think about it!

Is this why the republicans made it clear that nothing is going to get done and the only focus is to remove Obama. They have said publicly that it is their way or the highway. Is that two party's or one party looking to make it a one way party?

  • Cidlvj4 Yo'Adri... 2012/06/14 19:43:16

Freedom is won by men and women that sacraficed in battle for their right to have it. I gave six years of my life to our military. You are right in saying we may lose it...but think of what the Ryan plan reads. When you give business every leverage to basically call all the shots and the politicians become the pawns or puppets for money, we have a serious problem. When the Ryan plan takes from the middle class, the poor, the children, the sick and the old most of their security away, truely we would have lost our freedom. Connect the dots dear. When you are left with no ability to care for yourself...the next step is death. So the republicans want to be against abortion, and I agree. I do not like babies being killed, but to remove the ability for hundreds of thousand of people to have health care, it is no different than abortion. it is death! Do you not see that the rich are given more bennifits and the 99% have to pay for all. That is not freedom dear. Your every right as a human to live is taken away when and if ever you get sick. That being said, the real trojan horse is the way the Ryan plan is being pushed with lies. Watch the republican agenda and it will give you an idea what their up to. They do not have an agenda and will not tell you till they win. Brace yourself if they do win.

With all due respect. I have never met a Ron Paul follower, just those who are believers in the message of liberty and Ron Paul just happened to be the best representation of that idea. To say that Ron Paul has blind followers is sorely mistaken and a direct insult to them and will not further your agenda, if anything will worsen it. The RP crowd is in love with liberty not RP. If RP endorses Romney his supporters (not blind followers) will defect from RP too. That isn't an opinion, it is a fact. They understand what true liberty is and are not sucked into this anybody but Obama bs.. It is liberty or nothing period. For some reason you along with the ridiculous MSM can't seem to figure that out. You should see how many RP supporters have defected from Rand Paul since his endorsement of Romney. Pretty easy to see they are not followers, but independent people who want their liberty back with no compromise.
