An Open Letter to Dr. Ron Paul

KCurtis 2012/06/11 23:53:12
Dear Dr. Paul,
I am just a mother and a grandmother who so loves this country and the concept of freedom that stands faithfully behind our lovely United States Constitution. While I respect your views, I also see that you have collected a vast and deep following of people over the course of your admirable career. But, I must ask you now to consider the path you have chosen and the priorities of it. I must ask that you define for those followers, what is the best path for the greater good of us, the American people. I have been involved in politics at a local level since the 1970’s. I have served on a public level, but rarely delved into the national level until 2008. Today with little experience, I run a PAC, a political action committee under the blanket of the independent grass roots movement of the Tea Party. I’ve been an independent voter for over 42 years over 10 election cycles voting for both Democrats and Republicans who hold a fiscal and Constitutional conservative ideology. Now I realize something critical to both the path and direction of this great country, I must chose a side that stands clearly against the progressive movement toward a foundation that squarely stands on the opposite side of Socialism, Marxism, Fascism and eventually Communism, and that stance falls on the Republican Party. While a presidency held by Governor Romney is not as conservative as I like, I recognize for the good of all of the US people; Mr. Romney is the only opportunity we have to continue to live under the Constitution I swore a pledge of allegiance to for the better part of my entire life. So I ask you, plain and simple, transparent, from the bottom of my heart to do the same. The people who follow you have clearly stood for the Constitution, but unfortunately they also blindly follow your direction and some are willing to follow that dedication to the end of the freedom. They as well as all Americans need your direction now. They need to be told you are no longer seeking the office of the President of the United States and they need to be given your choice of endorsement. Without this, all of what you have stood for will soon fall to the ashes of the end of this great nation, the end of a free people. Ronald Regan once said freedom was the last stand in the United States and here we are, at the end of the road. Those of us who never stood with either party now realize that another 4 years of a leftist, progressive presidency will end all that we have stood for, for the last 240 years. It’s time Dr. Paul, it’s time for you, like I, to make your choice.

You have no possible way to win your honorable fight. You have given your all and those on either side have lost, but we as Americans have lost the most. While I understand your attempts and respect your positions now is the time for all good men to come to the aid of their country; this includes you Dr. Paul. We need to be united so that we will live to vote another day. I urge you to come forward, admit your campaign is over and make an endorsement so that those people who blindly follow can make their choice. And if you have any bit of concern over the future of the US Constitution I ask that you give us a start to turn the paradigm back, to move the road toward a better, more conservative America and endorse Mitt Romney. While he is not the most conservative person to guide this nation through the extremely hard times, he is the most conservative candidate who can win and stop the liberal progressive regression of this country and move forward with the founding principles that we have always, and will hopefully always stand for.

Very best regards,

KCurtis, National Chairwoman
Tea Party PAC of USA

Same type of following that Obama has, that's for sure.

Actually no, we all researched Ron Paul. 30 years of pure Constitutional voting is hard to ignore.
Obamunists fell in love with Obama because the media told them to, much like you Mittens followers... Which is truly funny because we all lambast the Left owned media for supporting Obama, but apparently your side thought it was ok to believe them hook, line and sinker on Romney.
    What's up with that?
  • KCurtis RageFury 2012/06/16 00:41:42

You haven't researched RP at all. His voting record is a simple game of cat and mouse. He introduces port spending for his state and then after he's secured a vote he votes against it, then he can claim for all the Dumb Masses that he never voted for pork spending.
  • RageFury KCurtis 2012/06/16 01:08:57

Obviously you have not either, otherwise you would have learned that Pork and Earmarks are not the same thing at all. Congress has the job of allocating money per the Constitution and Earmarks are a way for a Representative to GET BACK the tax dollars that his/her district paid. As we all know Ron Paul is not fond of Taxes. This is consistent with Ron Paul's positions.
If Representatives do not write the Earmarks for their constituents then the money goes to the Executive branch and will be spent with no transparency anyways. Allocations made by Executive Agencies will be no better than allocations made by Congress.

So yes he can honestly claim that he does not vote for Pork spending.

Incorrect. You need to do some research, I will get you started.

Earmarks are provisions associated with legislation (appropriations or general legislation) that specify certain congressional spending priorities or in revenue bills that apply to a very limited number of individuals or entities.

Pork-barrel spending means unnecessary government expenditures that are allocated for political reasons.

Like it or not they are not the same. Eliminating Earmarks completely will not decrease the budget and the money spent therein.
Ron Paul feels an obligation to get back the Tax revenues the Government has taken from his district and spend it in his district. As I have said above, if he or some other didn't write them in, the money goes to the Executive Branch and gets spent regardless.

There is an argument that money spent should be completely allocated by Earmarks. Not so with Pork Barrel spending.

Either way if you have issue with this whole process you should have supported Ron Paul, the only candidate truly dedicated to reducing the size and scope of Government and thus cutting real spending and not this bs crap of reducing increased spending over decades...

Wish my Congress Reps felt the same as Ron Paul.

Not exactly sure how you can support the Tea Party and Ron Paul.

He may lean to your less government views but libertarianism is pretty 'leftist' (as you put it) socially and foreign policy.

I've always supported Paul as an un-corrupted politician with very honest views, unlike alot of 'down with the communist' opposition voices in America he does suggest solutions and gives conviction to his beliefs.

I hope he does stick in with it to the convention if not to prove a point to the mass of 'independents' out in America looking for a cause, I have no doubts that his campaign for GOP nomination has pushed alot of people in America to look at Libertarianism.

He'll get to the convention, drop out with grace and help Gary Johnson try to get to 14% and try to push their cause further on a national debate stage.

Not sure it's fair on Ron Paul to compare his campaign with the Tea Partys, they go about their beliefs in completely opposite ways and their views are not exactly similar on a lot of things.

And you missed the point that some people look farther than a few years into the future. A vote for Romney is a vote for more of the same. Democrat or Republican. Getting people like Ron Paul more and more attention by mainstream America will open people's minds and hopefully get some third party candidates in office in the future, and maybe even Paul himself can get elected at some point.

The change that America requires is cultural, not political, and Ron Paul represents that cultural change. Voting for Romney sacrifices our chances for that.

If you want Doctor Paul's supporters, you need to give in to a lot of his ideas at the RNC, and start implement them. Begging for his votes is begging to us, and if this doesn't happen, you can see me sitting on the sidelines for the presidential selection, but I will still vote for my state's congressional, and city elections.
