An armada of US and British naval power is massing in the Persian Gulf in the belief that Israel is considering a pre-emptive strike against Iran’s covert nuclear weapons programme.
They're showing muscle. Bombing Iran would be no cakewalk. It would require squandrons of bombers ,inteceptor missies, and Navy carriers. First Iran's extensive air defense network would have to be destroyed. No one is certain just what Iran has in nuclear ability because those sites are buried underground, some beneath mountains. That would mean bunker bombs. It would take many weeks to stop Iran from mining the Strait of Hormuz, which would cut off 20 % of the world's oil supply. It would be a lengthy engagement.
There is a good reason why Pres. Bush and now Pres, Obama do not want to engage with Iran. But if Netanyahu is stupid enough to go for it, I hope he doesn't think the USA miitary should come in and clean up his mess. We just brought troops home from Iraq and are trying to get Afghanistan somewhat stable ( doubtful). Enough is enough.
This is hard to analyze. The US already has military assets in Saudi Arabia, which could could be used to counter an Iranian response. The issue is that it is not clear anymore whether or not Obama would even support Israel. My personal guess is that the US and British naval flotilla is to repel a potential blockade of oil in the Persian Gulf by Iranian vessels or land based rockets.
These are planned exercise "war games" that were announced some weeks ago as a show of strength to Iran because of a threat to close the straights of Hormz.
They are not there to declare war - if they had been. you can guarantee that there presence would not have been advertised before the opening salvo...
Them people have needed a good @$$ whipping since the 80's. Odumba prolly sent them over there to shoot down Israeli forces though. If we get goaded into this, we should take oil when the dust settles.

Very informative article. This would envole the entire middle east and most other countries around the the world. Sounds like the WW3 fuse has been lit. We are just waiting to hear the "BOOM". And the US with that incompetent baffon as Commander and Chief too. Heaven help us.
