I can't believe no one noticed and have him confined to base. Their is always signs of PTSD or any other kind of breakdown. I'm sure it probably IS a break down and not just some guy deciding to kill the people he is suppose to be protecting. It doesn't excuse the act, he will suffer the consequences for this.

I just hate that the Afgan people are pointing figures at all the soldiers when it was one. If it were all we after from the start ( like the Idiot Taliban leader is claiming ) there would be a lot more dead civilians over there and this thing would have been over with a long time again. Let our guys come home and lets them kill each other or work it out themselves.

The longer you string out a war like this without a well funded adequately manned force with clear goals and a definitive exit strategy, the greater the chance for problems developing like Koran burnings, coalition soldiers being murdered by rogue Afghan soldiers and a soldier like this one having a mental breakdown in the field.
