American leadership: the world's best hope?

A common misconception is that soft drugs have been legalised in The Netherlands.
The fact is that cultivation and possession remains a criminal offence.
The pocession of no more than 5 grams marijuana per person is allowed.
The use, pocession and production of hard drugs is prohibeted.

Is prostitution legal in the Netherlands?
Prostitution itself has never been a criminal offence in the Netherlands.
Brothels were banned in the Netherlands in 1911 to protect prostitutes from exploitation.
However, the ban has not been enforced for the past 50 years.
Action was only taken against brothels and sex clubs if they engaged in criminal activities or disturbed public order.
Thegeneral bans on brothels and pimping were removed from the Penal Code in 2000.
The sex industry is regulated under normal labour law, which increases protection of the workers from exploitation. The prostitutes have their own trade union.

Having said that: No country is without faults.
No, you have not more freedom than any other country.
On some issues you have even less!

Forgetting however that majority not rules all the time, that minority often start a change for the better.
If it wasn't for the Japanese you wouldn't have even got involved in the war and the german language is just fine thank you. I am proud of my British/German heritage. (Slightly less german than Queen Elizabeth but British/German nevertheless).
As for every country has laws, I wasn't contradicting that and if you read my other posts I support the legal system. Which means you disagree with Reagan, if you agreed those laws would have changed already.
As for Obama not following the law, I do believe he has not been found guilty of any crime and has therefore followed the laws of the land. Please feel free to point me to a court decision where he has lost.
