American Conservatives are a wacky breed. Yes or no?

It's a matter of perspective, and generally what your exposed to, I find, the coin generally has two equal sides.

I'm going to say no, because it burns me when I see people generalize my background or put others actions on me.

Yeah SH attracts the extremist and those that are polarized my party, but outside of this site many aren't like that.

Most of them are f*ckin' retarded, is what they are. It's shameful, really. You get more intelligent conversations, more thoughtful back-and-forth, with a toddler.

The alternative is debased & amoral. It's shameful, really. I honestly (& I mean this) have NEVER had an "intelligent" conversation with a liberal/progressive, because when the conservatives begins the "intelligent" discourse, the liberal begins the insulting, mocking & name-calling to hide his/her deficiencies as a communicator. Now if we begin talking to them about sexual promiscuity & deviation, gays, illicit drugs, illegals, & gun control, there eyes light up & we see a brief spark of life in their eyes & mannerisms; however, that, again, is diminished when anyone challenges them on these topics with actual common sense, values, & moral authority, not to mention the US Constitution.

The vast majority of them are. I just left a thread that showed Mitt Romney's proposals if he wins the election. Since he claims to be "severely Conservative" I'll take him at his word. His plans for low-income disabled people & senior citizens will leave them homeless, without medical insurance, & starving. Medicare will be no more, SSI will be no more, food stamps will be no more. The death panels they made up during the healthcare debate would probably be a blessing under a Mitt Romney government.

Ever since this president was elected in 2008 some conservatives have completely lost their minds with their willingness to believe any crazy conspiracy theories despite a lack of credible evidence.

At least conservatives had a mind to lose. We can't say that for the liberal/progressive.

I think what they've actually revealed is the liberal/progressives inability to understand the highest form of humor, sarcasm.

Basically, Americans are wacky. They value privacy, but stick their noses in everyone else's business. And they don't see any contradiction in this.

You & I both know that not all Americans are wacky. I really hate it when people use exaggerations & lies to try to make their points. When that happens, they lose all credibility in a conversation (seriously).

I did not say all Americans are wacky. But I did say that as a whole, Americans are wacky. I believe there is ample evidence to support my position. This is neither an exaggeration nor a lie -- the fact that you consider it one of these is your own business.

It is not exaggeration to generalize a bit. If we always had to write exceptions to everything we put forth, it would be extremely difficult to write anything meaningful.

I imagine if we compared ourselves to other countries, they, would be "wacky" to us. I just think your generalization was disingenuous & had no real point in the scheme of things. That's just my opinion, however. ;-)
