In 2007, Amanda Knox was sent to prison for allegedly murdering her flatmate, Meredith Kercher, while living abroad in Italy. In 2009 she was convicted of the murder and sentenced to 26 years, but two years later the conviction was overturned. The details of the case were widely disputed, and the surrounding controversy turned her into something of a celebrity (or anti-celebrity, if you prefer). Now the 24-year-old has signed a book deal, and The Associated Press reports that it could be worth around $4 million.

Publisher HarperCollins announced Thursday, "Knox will give a full and unflinching account of the events that led to her arrest in Perugia and her struggles with the complexities of the Italian judicial system. Aided by journals she kept during her imprisonment, Knox will talk about her harrowing experience at the hands of the Italian police and later prison guards and inmates. She will reveal never before-told details surrounding her case, and describe how she used her inner strength and strong family ties to cope with the most challenging time of her young life." Are you interested in hearing Amanda Knox's side of the story?

I get so sick of these people who get into trouble and then when released write books for money. She was found not guilty. Knox needs to go home, get her life together, find a job and move on.

She can write. Its her right to do so but I for one am not interested. I think she should move on and get on with her life in the best way she can. Just my opinion.

We could do this all day......

How about a little Ayn Rand.....
The spread of evil is the symptom of a vacuum. Whenever evil wins, it is only by default: by the moral failure of those who evade the fact that there can be no compromise on basic principles.

This story interested me from the very beginning, as my son had spent over 3 months in Verona Italy his senior college year. When I read all about the actual physical evidence against this American girl, and read how the Italian people hated her, it just didn't ring true that she was guilty. So much deception, and the prosecuting attorney actually was a convicted criminal himself, and it is hard to believe he was allowed to sit as an attorney. Every minute of coverage, every word written about the case, I read and watched. It was totally inconceivable to me that she was convicted. I truly rejoiced when she was acquitted, and will probably buy the book and read it. A spellbinding case for sure, and hopefully from her perspective, a riveting account.

Lifestyle and behavior determine how others perceive all of us. Personal responsibility is something many don't want to accept. Our choices in life, make all the difference in how we choose to live. Hopefully this girl will make better choices, and use this second chance to do good. Giving her money to tell her side of this story is foolish, it would only be her version of the truth, and her roommate is dead. Let's just move on now, and see what she does with the remainder of her life!
