Am I automatically a Liberal if I do not support Mitt Romney for President?

Back when Bush was president, I spoke out against him numerous times because I disagreed with him on a number of issues. I was repeatedly attacked by so called conservatives, which I believe were actually mostly neocons and was called a liberal LOL. Then after Obama was elected I spoke out against him and still do to this day, and am attacked by all the liberals equally and just as bad as I was by the so called Conservatives.

Overall, I could care less what I am called, or who I am attacked by, I stick to what I believe in and by my principles. I just want to let it be known that I think both sides act like babies when someone doesn't agree with their political puppets. Since I think Romney and Obama are the same in platforms and policies then I think I could easily call all the Romney supporters Liberals, and all the Obama supporters Conservatives.

SO here it is... The confusion sets in, I am more closely a Libertarian, I believe in strict fiscal conservatism, but am very open when it comes to social policy regarding personal freedom.. I am all over the political spectrum, but stick to the basic policy that one should be allowed to walk and do as he/she pleases as long as they do not harm anyone or anyone's things in the process.

No you arn't, just because you do support one candidate doesn't mean you didn't support another one in the same party.

Same reason as I am apparently a Liberal for supporting Ron Paul. It's amazing how far ignorance can take you in the world these days...

I wouldn't throw my endorsement behind him yet. If Ron Paul can't achieve the republician nomination then by all means support the libertarian candidate. I'd say that if you are in support of the libertarian ideas, you should support both RP and Gary Johnson, but if Ron can't get nominated after August then if you like you can support Gary.

You haven't seen their new tactic? If Romney becomes president and fails they then label him a liberal, they are doing that with Reagan and Bush. LOL

Your last paragraph sums it up. Even though you are a fiscal conservative, I think you are a centrist with left leaning principles, due to the fact that you are open regarding personal freedom and liberal as far as ("basic policy that one should be allowed to walk and do as he/she pleases as long as they do not harm anyone or anyone's things in the process") is concerned.
    Just my opinion

Thanks for your opinion. I get labeled as liberal because of my stance towards personal freedom, but usually I am far more conservative than those calling me liberal regarding fiscal policy, which, to me is the center of conserivatism.

That's a interesting question you pose, considering you are asking if you don't support Liberal Romney, would you be a Liberal if you don't. So I guess we could ask the same question, would you be considered a Liberal if you do support Romney?

No, take it from a liberal.

However, as a liberal, I'm not to fond of Obama's policies. To me, he wasted two years of Democratic majority to pass a watered down healthcare law.

More close than anything, I don't like labels, but am more close to the libertarian philosophy than anything.

You are no more a Liberial for non-support of Mitt Romney than someone being a racist for not supporting the policies of the Current Administration.

Just because you dont support a specific person, reguardless of their party doesnt make you anything. Your values and what your idea of what is Important in america determines your political standing.
