Almost 44 million was spent on the Wisconsin recall election. Should unions be proud or hang their head in shame?

I have never seen a bigger tantrum in my life. Walker was not guilty of anything other than bringing prosperity back to Wisconsin, but the liberals couldnt stand that. He interfered with their sweetheart packages. They were getting paid more to do less with cadalac healthcare plans and sweet pensions- all on the public dime. It was unsustainable, so Walker did something.

His actions werent even that drastic. He let people make their own decisions about union membership. Since then people have been leaving the unions in droves- willingly. Sounds me like the libs need to stop crying and actually work for their salary, which is still higher than their private sector counterparts.

It was a waste of money caused by the unions who should now be responsible to reimbursing the tax payers for what they did.

The recall was requested by more than one million voters. I don't think all of them were union members. Many groups were involved beside the unions.

Every signature was checked by the Wisconsin secretary of state's office. Only valid signatures were allowed.

    You made that up, right?

They didn't have time to verify all the signatures. But there seems to be a difference between the petition and the voters.

If Walker was truly bad for Wisconsin it might be a different story, even though I don't believe in the recall process.

But, he wasn't, isn't, nor will he be bad for Wisconsin.

And, the voters knew that coming in to the recall.

This is what I find interesting:

Democrats outspent Republicans $23.4 million to $20.5 million on the recalls.

Why should the Wisconsin union bosses be ashamed of the enormous amount of money they wasted on this recall election. After all, it wasn't their money now was it?

Now the spin will begin. They spent that much, while we only spent this much. When questioned, they say, "That money doesn't count because..." I enjoy how the psychic left knows what's really happened.

The unions should be send a big bill for this whole con-job.

What a terrible, terrible waste of money, no matter who won on this one. 44 million! Boy, could that have been used to help folks out if kept in the union dues column instead of being spent on trying to hold on to something whose time has come and gone. If I were a member of the unions, I'd be ticked at all that money gone down the rabbit hole.

A re-call should never be over policy disagreements and the state of Wisconsin told the unions to back off and shut up.

A waste of money on both sides, but the Republicans...LOL...over 70% of their money to defeat the recall was imported from outside Wisconsin...

Hopefully that will take away a lot from other sources that they were originally intending to spend it on...

The People voted to have Walker as their Governor and the UNIONS decide the PEOPLE did not have that right and they would install their man in his place. Well, the UNIONS have found out to their cost that they should let a sleeping dog, lie.

Now, they are crying foul......and predicting the direst of fowl consequences, will befall the victorious Governor Walker, who is the PEOPLES choice.

Crying Proster at WAlkers Recall election

People Power versus UNION Money Power.....

I believe PEOPLE power just won the night in Wisconsin!

Really? A year and a half of spewing lies and hate and getting money from the national AFL-CIO , George Soros and the like and the unions only spent 3 Million? I bet yo can't even say that with a straight face...the unions gave hundreds of milions to elect Obama in 2008 and this election was worth more than that to them. If it was only 3 million, its because people are leaving the unions wilingly and the coifers are drying up.

Democrats outspent Republicans $23.4 million to $20.5 million on the recalls, the group said. Outside political groups accounted for $34.5 million of the spending.

The number I saw was $60+ Million with Governor Walker spending $30+Million, Democratic candidates spending $4Million, outside groups (including unions) spending $21Million.

So....did the unions spend too little? too much? the right amount? I don't know but Governor Walker's victory certainly was expensive. I doubt that Romney will be able to outspend O'bama by 2/1 let alone 5/1 like Walker outspent Barrett.

I think that they should have this amount of money removed from their pensions. An equal amount from each public sector employee's pension plan, so they can pay their own collective way in solidarity with each other.
