Allen West Rips the President for hosting a fancy event that he himself attended and enjoyed. Is this being a hypocrite?

Allen West before and during the party:

"On Saturday night I was honored to be invited to the White House
Correspondents Association dinner. There was much glam, glamour, and
humor flowing," West posted on his Facebook page on Monday morning.

Then all of a sudden: "While the President laughs and dines, our Constitutional Republic is
eroding and my countrymen are suffering," West wrote. "In this election
year, it is sad to think that some of those who were sitting in that
ballroom Saturday night laughing and living it up, are helping to
perpetuate the manipulation and deception of our country."

Why is Allen West even attending such high living events if he dislikes them so much? Why does he go places that he has such obvious contempt for. He ate, and drank and even signed autographs like a celebrity, then has the nerve to call the President for hosting an event that he himself attended?

Does this seem like Hypocrisy to you?

Holy crap. Talk about two-faced.

This isn't difficult. If Allen thinks this event - which has been an ANNUAL TRADITION FOR 90 YEARS! - "perpetuates the manipulation and deception of our country" - then don't go. Don't be part of an event that you think is so disgusting.

As I said before, the Correspondent's Dinner wasn't cancelled by Bush while our soldiers were dying. He even made a funny at one of his venues about looking under the table for WMD's. You guys have either got to lighten up or recall things that might get you in trouble when you trash this President for not doing any more than any of his predecessors did.

Is that how we should judge Obama?
If You actually read the entire speech from Norquist, he is saying he would prefer a President that would do what he wants in relation to taxes and other certain bills coming from congress, is that surprising?

Grover Norquist totally runs the republican party. All candidates and representatives MUST sign his ass-hat pledge if they want the con's support. Jon Huntsman didn't and look what happened to him? (BTW the ONLY republican candidate that I thought was worth two pins but that was the problem, he could actually reach across the aisle.) Rebulicans are scared to death of him and that in the end will defeat you.

It makes political sense to pledge not to raise taxes....
So it's like saying, "No new taxes"... what's the big deal...

But part of that pledge that Norquist MAKES the politico's sign has a caveat....if they do not sign it, their seat in congress will be contested by a politician who will. I think that's pretty powerful, don't you?

There have been many times when I've felt we've been ill-served by both sides, but I must say, we've been much more ill served by the modern day republicans than the Dems. I say "modern day" because there was a time in the not too distant past when they actually worked together for the benefit of All Americans, not just the few. More importantly, they weren't all bought and paid for by special interests and lobbyists before they ever took office. That's the saddest thing of all.

Some unions are indeed good, however there are the unions, such as SEIU, that are strictly political and have done very little to actually benefit their members for the $billions of dollars they collect in dues. Doesn't it seem funny to You that SEIU ONLY supports Democrats and ONLY cares about the union desires.... there are a lot more people in states than union members. Remember as well, the same politicians that are elected by the SEIU are the ones negotiating the union contracts. I'm not against unions, I'm against corruption and Chicago politics.
