He was elected President. If the Supreme Court hadn't stepped in and invalidated the election things would have been infinitely better.

If he had won his own state, Florida would have not mattered, but the people of Tennessee knew enough to not allow him to win.

He wasn't running for President of Tennessee, he was running for President of the United States where he won the popular vote, and would have one the election if the Supreme Court hadn't invalidated the election and installed W.

As I posted, if Al had won Tennessee, Florida whold not have made any diference, but the voters of Tennessee were smart enough not to allow Al to win his home state.

And as I posted, what matters, or should have mattered, is the vote of the people of the entire United States of America. Sadly the only. Otes that counted were the 5 right wing justices.

Why would anyone believe that a person that could not even carry their own state would make a good president?

How could anyone who lost the election, but have the election nullified be a good president. Oh yea he wasn't. I'm not arguing that Mr Gore would have been the greatest president of all time, just that he would have been better than W. it wouldn't take much.

Then he woud not have been free to indulge in his scheme to sell carbon credits.

But the US would be leading the way to protecting the plant for future generations instead of greedily taking everything we can and thumbing our noses at our grandchildren.

Maybe you can explain just how purchasing caron credits reduces carbon emissions, becuse it just alows a company to keep emitting carbon, but pays Al for the prividlege.

Also carbon dioxide is not the largest green house gas, because water vapor is by far the largest and we have little control over it, and it would not line the pockets of those selling emission credits, so carbon is targeted for a credit that can be sold by Al and his friends.

What a supreme waste of time, comparing someone who was President to someone who wasn't and by rights probably never should be. We'll probably never know what kind of fool HE WOULD OF MADE OF HIMSELF as President but given how he lives his life compared to how he was telling us how to live ours in "An Inconvenient Truth", I think he would of been tagged as an American Idiot & Hypocrite.

Clinton left Bush one war and it was against Islamic terrs.
Al Qaeda was in 2 countries when Clinton took offce and 55 countries when he left office.
Osama had decared war on the US 5 times while Clinton was in office.
Clinton passed up 3 times to have Osama killed and 3 times to have him arrested.

1993 - Saddam sponsors WTC bombing.
1995 - Saddam sponsors Oklahoma City Bombing.
1996 - Islamic terrs bomb TWA Flight 800 off Long Island.
1997 - Osama's Islamic terrs blow up 2 buildings and kill Americans.
1998 - Osama's Islamic terrs blow up 2 US embassies in Africa.
2000 - Osama's Islamic terrs attack the USS Cole and kill 17 Americans and injure dozens.

Life is too short to live in a place you hate, you need to find a place to live that you can be proud of and glad to call home. I recommend the Sudan, I hear it is nice this time of year.
Besides, your ignorance and stupidity will not stand out as much over there.

9/11 was a response to American meddling in the Middle East, before then they had no problem with Westerners, I mean, the Fundamentalists and Americans worked together when the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan took place. It was after America started meddling in their business and oil that they got annoyed.

None this of has anything to do with whether or not Al Gore "wouldn't have got involved with wars".

"9/11 was a response to American meddling in the Middle East, before then they had no problem with Westerners,..."
The Mid-East has had problems with Westerners at least from the Crusades forward. More recently the Moslem Fundamentalists have problems with influence of decadent Western culture on their Sharia "abiding" people.

The middle east had no problems with the west before the 21st century since the 13th century - as I said, America and Afghan Fundamentalist Islamic Rebels worked together, and remember the Carter Doctrine? We were all happy, and the middle east got quite rich off the oil the west bought. It was only when the US started poking their noses into things like human rights and Saddam Hussein that the Fundamentalists started using hatred of the West to control people. There weren't any attacks on America before 2000, were there?

I hate to break it to you but the "Fundamentalists" hate everyone that isn't them. USSR was a local enemy and easy to dick with. The US had a mainland half a world away and only some local assets. As technology improves (and the USSR falters), guess where their attention is going to go? Being the perceived only super power left, what better target to gain the attention they're looking for than to raise the volume of attacks on the USA.

Yes, but they didn't care or try to attack us as long as we kept buying their oil. It was when Bush poked his nose into their business, human rights, and started annoying them by being very anti-Islam that they started to retaliate with 9/11. The Fundamentalists just needed something to focus on to control their people.

The US was marked for destruction by the Moslem Brotherhood in the 1940s. We were not in the Middle East then but we should have carpet bombed half those countries for allying themselves with Hitler.

I have reason to believe that you are one of those 5th columnist, foreign devil Islamic terrs living in the United Kingdom.

But they were perfectly happy to co-exist as long as the West kept out of their affairs and kept buying their oil. It was when Bush interfered with them, pestered them about human rights, and set up dictators in the area and attacked Saddam Hussein's dictatorship that they got annoyed and the Fundamentalists started to blame everything bad on the West being immoral, that things went wrong. And I am very anti-Islam, thank you very much. They're evil, I'm just saying that they wouldn't hate us if we had kept our noses out, which we can never do...

They are evil and they hate anyone who is not Moslem and hate many that are Moslem. They have hated infidels since the days of Mohammad.

About a half dozen comments above your above comment, I have a list of attacks by Islamic terrs on the US, all before Bush. Specifically they occurred during the Clinton years, when as the story goes, the whole world loved and respected us.
This is a partial list of the most serious attacks.

British Prime Ministers Gladstone and Churchill* in the latter 1800s warned of Wahhabi Islam. Churchill again warned of Wahhabi Islam in 1920. In 1910, the World Missionary Conference was held in Edinburgh and the topic was to halt the advance of Islam into southern Africa.
1938, Hillaire Belloc, stated that our your grandson's and great grandson's will be fighting the advance of Islam.

    * Churchill may not have been a prime minister, but it was still a speech to Parliament.
Gladstone said that as long as one copy of this book exists, as he waved the Koran, there will never be world peace.

Moslem Arabs allied themselves with Hilter during WWII. Grand Mufti Hussein of Jersualam spent WWII as Hitler's 'special guest' in Berlin. Hussein raised 3 SS divisions of Moslem troops to fight alongside the Nazi SS.

They never have been friends with the West. You ought to spend you summer holiday reading some serious history. All that I mentioned above occurred before George Bush became President.

They weren't friends with the West, they co-existed, because they wanted us to buy their oil. Of course they hate us, they just didn't have a particular reason to attack before America got involved in their affairs. And yes, Clinton annoyed them as well, but Bush pushed them over the edge, there's a reason it occurred half a year after he was inaugurated and not in Clinton's presidency... Also, the Arabs were more scared of Russia than they hated the West, which is why they stayed on Hitler's side, because he was pally with the Soviets, and when he betrayed them it looked like the Nazis would win, so they stuck by him to destroy Russia...

The Arabs had no interest in destroying Russia.

Of course they did, Communism almost spread to the middle east, if Afghanistan had fallen they would be next. Also, the Soviets had voiced their intent to gain control over the middle Eastern Oil Fields.
