Football player DaShon Marman was arrested and kicked off a U.S. Airways flight on Wednesday after refusing to pull up his baggy pants, ABC reports.

His mother said that she didn't like the way he dressed, either, but was furious at the airline's decision to kick him off and arrest him.

"He kept asking, 'Why? I didn't do anything.'... Deshon is not a troubled kid, he just wants to come home, get back into schooling and football and leave all this behind him. The clothing is a fad, but you cannot judge a book by its cover. That woman made a judgment call and from there, it became a power struggle. She figured, 'I'll show you.'

Officials argue that his pajama pants were "below his shorts." However, Marman explains that he attempted to pull them up, but couldn't because he was carrying his luggage and "in a line of people all moving fast toward the plane."

he was not arrested for his baggy pants, he was arrested for refusing to pull them up, look if we have to have a perverted pat down, pull up your damn pants or go to jail. Stupid is as stupid does.

the air ports are getting really out of touch with reality. arresting people for them looking stupid is going a little to far. some of their rules and guide lines are just completely childish. in some airports they remove baby's dipers and strip search old women for possible exploseives! come on what happened to common sense!

You've got to be kidding me...he was kicked off of the plane...AND arrested for wearing baggy pants? Yes I know it's a stupid fad, and the people doing it look absolutely ridiculous but he isn't hurting anyone. If he wants to look like a hoodlum who can't afford a belt leave him to do it. They better have given him his money back at least. I can't believe people now a days. It's ridiculous.

I think it is a silly way to dress yourself too. But to tell someone they can't get on a plane because of it? Nope, that goes to far. For heavens sake! If anything it makes it easier for the TSA to do their job. I mean clearly that person has nothing to hide. He is letting it hang out for all the world to see.

I agree with your sentiment but the jails just aren't big enough. California was just ordered to release one third of it's population of inmates by the Supreme Court due to overcrowding and you just convicted half of the entire population.
