Are modern Republicans idiots? Or just amoral? 40 years ago we had a few brilliant Republicans of high moral character.
Its been a long time since Eisenhower and Nixon.

Secondly, every economist at the time said that the bailout need to happen to prevent a financial meltdown. How the private company chose to spend it was up to them, unfortunately.
I would point out that the first TARP which we are talking about here was a Republican plan, so this gets bipartisan support.
Personally, I think the US needs to get out of the Middle East. That requires alternate energy like natural gas, atomic, solar, wind, geothermal and the like. It requires letting Israel stand on it's own. But we are not yet in a position to do that.
I do take heart at the number of states that have passed a no shariah type of law for their states. OK, KS for ex.
Personally I am tired of hearing the people who are paying for things dont have standing to challenge them though.
