AG Holder should resign...Sen Orrin Hatch

Andy 2012/06/14 14:49:11

Utah Republican Orrin Hatch became at least the fifth senator to call
for U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder’s resignation as lawmakers step
up criticism of his handling of probes into a federal gun investigation
and leaks of classified information.

Hatch, who said Holder “ought to retire” during a radio interview
today on the “Mike Huckabee Show,” is the second Republican on the
Senate Judiciary Committee to say Holder should step aside. John Cornyn
of Texas did so as Holder testified before the panel yesterday.

“He’s basically a nice man, but, by gosh, he’s been so partisan in
that job that I’m very concerned about him and tend to support Senator
Cornyn and others who think he ought to retire,” Hatch said, according
to a transcript from the syndicated radio program provided by his
office.

Holder told lawmakers yesterday that he acted appropriately and doesn’t have “any intention of resigning.”

Yes! If for no other reason than he is under far to much scrutiny over many policies and strategies done by his department that may turn out to be illegal!

He didn't do a damned thing wrong. This whole thing is just political "follies" to forestall the "normal deliberation" of the government. Bad move on the part of the Republicans, it's going to "backfire" on them.

Holder did not start this program. Nothing has been proven, Issa knows damned well Holder can't release any information as long as the program and investigation is in affect. Issa is just being a "bully", he gives less than a crap about "fast and furious" he's only out to discredit the administration. These idiots are playing their silly political games and you're falling for it.

Holder is the most blatantly biased and most corrupt of all the attorneys general this country has ever had. He cares nothing for the rule of law, for justice, or for ethics.
Unfortunately, his attitude and his corrupt actions are more and more typical of our entire legal system.

So all the Senators and Representatives that feel Holder should resign should do so as well? Or just Hatch?
  • WankerBait littleb... 2012/06/15 19:17:27

Considering all those who want Holder to resign are Republican tools, yes they should all resign...

Presuming you're not in Congress, you particular political affliction is of no interest to me...

As for democracy, that depends on what your definition of democracy is. If, you are referring to rule by the majority without checks, balances, and protections against tyranny by the majority (mob rule), then no I don't believe in democracy. If, you are referring to rule by the majority within the framework of a constitution which provides checks, balances, and protections from mob rule, then yes I believe in democracy.

Fortunately, the USA has such constitutional protections, and these political mouthpieces are just that - noisy partisan blow-hards playing to their mob, who in this case are just a bunch of haters looking for any excuse to hate. Hatch is being threatened with retirement by the same political mob so he's getting his pathetic ass in line before the elections.

    -Peace

Lol...Ok....so basically you gave a definition you don't truly believe in!

More interesting is you see NO Democrats as "Blow Hards"! Here a small snippet of Partisan MOB rule by them!

Lol....you made a statement blaming one side of the aisle but not the side you adore! Very clearly my statement is inline when the very same thing was done by "Blowhard" Democrats when the other Administration was in power in regards to the Attorney General!

So you speak "Democracy" from exactly ONE direction and absolve your side for the VERY same thing! I'm calling Bulls***!

Alberto R. Gonzales , and the first Hispanic United States Attorney General, appointed in February of 2005 by President George W. Bush, becoming the highest-ranking Hispanic in government to date.[1] Prior to his elevation, he was the first Hispanic White House General Counsel, and earlier he had been Bush's General Counsel during his governorship of Texas.

In Texas Gonzales had also served as Secretary of State of Texas and then as a Texas Supreme Court Justice.

Gonzales's tenure as US Attorney General was marked by several conflicts with Congress. Following bipartisan calls for his removal, Gonzales resigned from the office without explanation. Democrats were particularly opposed to Gonzales for his role in the firing of several US District Attorneys which they believe had politicized his office liberal hypocrisy
