According to the US DEBT CLOCK the debt per citizen is $50,839. Are you okay with that?

I blame Obama for the sharp increase, but this is a symptom of a system that has been ill for a long time.

no and as one of those people who have to pay taxes each year (although I almost have it balanced out so they take enough without taking too much maybe this year) I resent the fact that my part of teh debt is actually 168+ million.
the US population is 314 million but only 101 million pay taxes (those under 18 those making less than 10k and those over 65 do not pay federal taxes).

The party of "No" doesn't exist as far as I am concerned becasue no one in government says NO enough. when you have to pay bills and buy milk you do not give in to the child who whines for a new game system you say NO even if you are the unpopular parent.... government needs to say NO more often to spending on peoples WANTS over making needs a priorty

That $50k+ serves to remove focus from $120 TRILLION in unfunded US Liablities - commitments already made with none of the $$ on hand. That's over $1 MILLION per taxpayer. Are you okay with THAT?

Yet you wonder why the whole house of cards will fall in collapse?

Please read section 2 of the 14th amendment. Then read the first sentence of the same and decide if you really are what that says. Be sure to have a law dictionary with you for the sake of determining definitions of the words used, as legal terms are not the same as common parlance.

okay using Barron's Law dictionary to check I assume you are referring to the naturalized citizen... other than this I can't quite place the 14th (aka the civil rights amendment) in context to this post. Unless you refer to the division of the national debt to the entire population???? I more over think the truth lies with the fact that not even all CITIZEN pay taxes towards the nations needs let alone the nations debts.
with a population of 314,179,578 (2010 cencus) the USA has populations like this
24% of under 18 years of age (pay no taxes)
31% of households making less than 10K a year (household could be a family of 1 or 20 no difference they pay no taxes [federal])
13% who are 65 years or older who pay no taxes or pay only at a reduced rate do to limited income
That is a total of 68% who do not contribute to the federal tax base and therefore do not help reduce the debt. leaving only 101+ to pay the debt which means each of the people who pay "owe" 168.3 million each

You're getting warmer ("Unless you refer to the division of the national debt to the entire population????). Find the legal definition of "person", and all terms within that def.

If I come into contact with an extra $50,839 in the near future, may I simply pay it to the IRS in exchange for being not held responsible for any of the financial burdens or constraints that they've put on me and further be able to live on my plot of "debt free" America?

So then.. If you were in too much debt.. You'd sell your car and buy a bike even though it would make it harder to get to work instead of asking for a raise or looking for a better job. Got it.

Austerity is what killed the USSR.

No when you are in debt you stop spending on unnecessary things. You turn off the cable, you eat romon noodles not beef, you car pool rather than drive everyday, you dont go on vaccation you dont go out to eat, you dont buy new shoes. Then you put in extra hours to earn more, you get a second job, you stop using credit....

Austerity didn't kill the USSR the supression of freedoms and the corruption of a centeral government with too much power led to its down fall. When people got tired of standing in line HOPING to be given their rations they began to look for other solutions over government. Ask anyone who lived or lives still in the former USSR they will tell you it was made a normal ocurence that if a person saw a line they automaticly got in it becasue it might have meant they got something even if it wasn't something they needed and tehy took that thing so they could then trade it (oopps free market) for something they did need/want

The debt was self inflicted by intentional reduction of revenue.

The first step to fix that is to return revenue to its previous level. JUST LIKE GEORGE BUSH INTENDED. JGTRRA and EGTRRA were supposed to expire on December 31, 2010 by design as passed by the Republican Congress and the Republican President.

It was designed to expire BASE on the assumption that revenue GROWTH do do a stable economy would happen. Remeber when GWB was coming into office the dot com bubble had just popped and a lower tax rate was to help recover from that... but the economy didn't recover as it should becasue we were attacked, (agree with the war or not) the cost of the attack as well as the loss of life and revenues of those 3000+ people, the airlines and travel industry, the need to add security people, the general loss of revenues becasue pf fear by the consumer.... then the housing collaps which was decades in the making (got worse when discrimination law suits were started because "not enough minorities" qualified for loans) and well guess what they didn't qualify and got a loan they couldn't pay....
this debt is not the doing of any ONE thing. nor is it the doing of any ONE adminstration... Reagan "inherited" Carter Clinton "inherited" Bush Bush "inherited Clinton and Obama inherited Bush but they each did their own screwing up making matters worse adn there was always ouside factors and CONGRESS to share teh blame

Sorry, there was no such condition. Both JGTRRA and EGTRRA had sunset clauses.

Next time read the law as passed before babbling.

and because no furture congress is bound by any past congress sunsets are up to the current congress and admin so again you can not point to any one thing and it doesn't change teh point that when you are in debt you must stop spending before you try and increase revenue because teh simple act of stopping unnecessary spending increases revenue all by itself.

Ron Paul is the only one who has addressed this. Neither ORomney or Ofraud have.
