It was a direct subsidy in the form of loan guarantees. Energy companies get their "subsidies" AFTER they complete a value-added year and file their federal 1040. Even then those "subsidies" are mostly taken against revenue on a "use it or lose it" basis.

any money that was actually paid out from that guarantee would have gone to their creditors and/or bank holding the loan for Solyndra, and not to Solyndra (which by that time did not even exist anymore due to their default on the loan).

oil companies don't need loan guarantees, because they already have ooodles of money....

actually. I don't know where you are getting your information from, but its wrong.

Obama only requests a budget... congress passes a spending bill.. then congress also does the appropriations which determine how the money is really going to be spent (and does not always track with the budget bill that was passed)...

Republicans control the house which is where ALL spending bills originate, so they are in charge of NASA spending, not Obama.

And, Obama did not cut the NASA budget... in fact his requests have been pretty consistent... higher than the last few years of the GWB admin.

ofcourse, the president proposes, congress disposes, HOWEVER, congress also doesnt create the bill, and under obama's LEADERSHIP, congress is influenced. therefore, all the spending that obama encouraged had to be blocked. what are the first things to go under a liberal president? military things.

when in reality, its Congress that does the budgets and NASA funding has been relativly flat under Obama and higher than GWB levels.

my point was that obama steers congress and the country, and under his influence we lost funding for things like that in place of entitlement. you built on my point by saying that congress blocked obama, going to show that obama is a weak leader by being irresponsible and not playing ball with the team. why do you think even democrats block a lot of obamas bills.
