Taken while the President/VP & national security team watched the operation to take down Osama bin Laden. The Navy Seals had helmet cameras so it could be viewed in RT while it went on.

War is not glamorous. It isn't pretty. It isn't something to celebrate. What these guys do is hideous under even these: the best of circumstances. This was a job VERY well done, and yet there is no high-fiving, no fist-pumping, not so much as a smile. There are only rightly grim faces, seeing the awfulness of war.
As a soldier, I hope they never release the tape. I joined the military, as did many others, so that civilians wouldn't have to see what I've seen. I don't want to see what these SEALs did. I know what they did. They are the best in the business, and they have every right to be proud of themselves. But this wasn't a touchdown pass. It was a pair of rounds passing through the face of another human being. Justified though it is, it isn't fit for viewing to anyone who doesn't absolutely have to see it.
Thank you so much for your contribution to this thread because what you have brought to this from a military man is so valuable. I can only speak as a layperson as I've never witnessed what you & your brothers/sisters in arms have. With heartfelt thanks I owe you/them a debt of gratitude that can never be repaid. God bless you & all our military personnel.
It was a great day for all Americans, Military and what a great call by our president Barack Obama.
..... "We have cameras sir!"
