Great point. Two 20' high fences, the first with 15' embedment rigged with sensors and explosives and manned guard towers with spotlights, night vision capabilities and motion sensors. The second fence 50 yards back with heavily mined real estate in between could have been paid for 100 times over.

We need to stop all immigration until we get this border thing resolved. The border is left open for a reason.

This is what happens when you build a fence. This is on CA/Mexico border.

Walls won't keep them out.

I don't know the answer to this, but how much in $$$$ has the U.S. confiscated that goes back in the U.S. coffers?

Tunnels were being built even before there was talk of building the fence. They were used for smuggling drugs!

I know that, but the tunnels also go under the "wall," (CA) and they are finding more all the time. This tunnel was just found in June.

However, authorities have found over 150 tunnels since 1990 and the numbers are going up.

I used to live on the border and kept pretty good track of what was going on down there. Most of the illegals either swam across or were brought in by coyotes. I've watched both happen!

I've said the same thing for years...growing up in Texas, I know 'The Mexican' very well. Grew up with 'em, illegals n all. Y hablo espanol tambien....a good many of the illegals are hardworking, godloving people I have no problem with at~all. .. but the bad apples ruin the bunch, so we must solve this crisis. ...BUT, in all honesty, PERHAPS NO RACE ON EARTH ARE MORE ADEPT WITH A LADDER OR A SHOVEL THAN 'THE MEXICAN'. A FENCE ISN'T THE ANSWER. .

A fence is a waste. Of the 20,000,000 illegal aliens in the country, only about 30% are here because they crossed the border illegally. The other 70% entered the country legally, but never returned. The most effective method to control illegal immigration is to remove the incentives to be here - starting with the birthright of Jus Soli.
