During Mitt Romney's overseas visit earlier this week, 86 percent of the coverage on ABC, CBS and NBC "emphasized Romney's perceived gaffes," according to a content analysis of 21 major news stories by the Media Research Center, which also compared Mr. Romney's trip to a similar excursion made by President Obama in 2008.
The results: The broadcast networks committed 53 minutes of almost entirely negative coverage to Mr. Romney, and 92 minutes of "gushing" to Mr. Obama.

burned into unrecognizable piles of ash by our napalm bombs. For what was all of this? It
doesn't take much revelation of the senseless realities to cause people of conscience and thinking to revolt against atrocities.
Presently, minds of the same sort are asking why they should again trust the Reagan Banks and Wall Street to provide anything other than what they provided in the three decades of 'Reaganomics" that led to the collapse of the economy in 2008? Would repeating the pillage and plunder of assets from the middle class to the "Top 2% Club" members really be the cure for earlier pillage and plunder?
The economy is not going to recover if the "top 2%" become richer and have more money in "offshore" accounts while the middle class is asked to pay even more of the burdens of
our militarism and overspending. The only thing that drives our economy is spending which comes from the 98%, not the 2%. That is the choice we will face in November and it is so clearly defined by the candidates. Mitten simply isn't doing so well as he can't hide his affections for the 2% and dislike of the remaining 98%.
First, Vietnam. We invaded the little country for no good reason as we had already assassinated South Vietnam's elected leader and the country was welcoming reunion with the Communist North. Ohhhh, that made us so angry, to think that a country would want to reunify and cared little about the politicians who would control the operations.
It was an unjust and needlessly brutal war and it was lost right here in America when we realized the atrocities we were inflicting on innocent rice farmers and their families
with our napalm bombs and "carpet bombing" as you call it. Recall "Hell No, I Won't Go"? It all came to a climax on the campus at Kent State University when we began to kill our own children to enforce a wrongful idea of militarism, and a wise President said "Enough, get us out of there NOW".
Actually it isn't true that 47% pay no taxes, and the story has been disproved many times. All who work pay taxes via the Social Security and Medicare withholding, even if they pay no FIT at year end. Account for those, and the elderly who...

Actually it isn't true that 47% pay no taxes, and the story has been disproved many times. All who work pay taxes via the Social Security and Medicare withholding, even if they pay no FIT at year end. Account for those, and the elderly who have little or no incomes, the disabled and handicapped, those in jails and prisons, the population of children not yet in the work force, and the percentage remaining that pay no tax of any kind to the Federal System is about half of the 47% advertised in RW propaganda.
I have six grandchildren and they are all counted in the 47% and is my 95 year old Mother.
Your candidate Romney has already proposed a "budget plan" to reduce the tax burden on the "Top 2% Club" members by approximately $240,000 per year, assuming they actually pay taxes in the U.S. To balance this loss of revenues he has
adjusted your contributions to be $2,000 more. Now, that "budget" is known and if that is a good idea for you and your family, do vote for Mitten and "Robin" and write
the check on April 15th.
You recite a single example of corporations not paying taxes, which is a good story were it not so limited. Actually, the 50 largest U.S. Corporations paid no Federal Income Taxes at all in the past decade, while receiving someting over $300 Billion in
grants and gifts from the Govy. Just yesterday it was reported that U.S. Corporations
pay their CEOs more money each year than they pay in Federal Taxes. This travesty isn't Obama's making or in any way connected to him or his Administration. It is the result of the plans called "Reaganomics" that revised the Tax Code and adjustments made to tax law since 1982. You correctly identify a major problem with our Republic, but it is a foolish gesture to try to blame the current President or his Administation for
the foolishness.
Media follows Willard for the same reason they followed Palin. They knew she would say something stupid and then try to walk it back. We all remember her great history lesson on Paul Revere. Fresh off his gawdawful tour in Europe, Romney is trying to look Presidential again. He sure gets testy and red faced over those tax returns, and the media loves that.
public spotlight and enjoy your six homes and hidden bank accounts.
Following the Civil War most slaves refused to leave the plantations that were their only known homes. You of the right wing remind me so much of these poor souls, you know nothing but the enslavement of "Reaganomics" and the debts piled upon you by the "conservative agenda", so you will be most happy if you can bring it all back and find your comfort zone again.
Actually, Ronzo, I am comfortably in the "upper middle class", retired, and willingly paying my fair share so that others less fortunate than myself might have opportunities that I enjoyed. I have never thought of hiding my savings in "offshore" accounts to avoid taxes.
socialists.
Can't change it so just point it out. Romney is demonstrating he is no
wuss!
him. He reassured Israel that American stands with Israe........and just by being
there he got 0bama to make some committments to Israeli defense.... that is
really something! That is two things, just on this European trip.
Romney's speech in Poland was his only gaffe free one on the whole tour, if you overlook the swipe at Russia, the "they faltered on the path to democracy" thing, assuming Russia ever wanted to be a democracy in the first place.
Romney's Euro trip was a disaster for him, but great for the American people. They got a first-hand look at what Romney would be as an embassador of the U.S. Compared to Obama, few liked what they saw.
Romney didn't take credit..... it was obvious to anyone who has a brain
in one's head that 0bama was threatened by Romney being in Israel,
and suddenly he couldn't do enough for Israel....... all in a weekend.
He has had 3 years to show his concern for Israel, and he chooses the
weekend Romney is there to do it. Yes, that is what 0bama calls good
politics, but some people who have a brain know what he did was
nothing but politics........ to get votes. Will it work? Don't know but
0bama's insincerity is is blatant.
As the poll question says, 86% of Romney's media coverage was negative.
I did read some stuff that said Obama upstaged Romney's visit to Israel by making some moves Israel had been waiting for, and I know after Romney left, the Prime Minister had many positive things to say about Obama as well.
So is this politics? You betcha, don't underestimate Obama, he is a seasoned politician. But to sit around and whine because Romney got outmaneuvered, "WHAAAAAA! Obama's a better politician than me, not fair!" sounds silly.
If Romney had done it to Obama, you'd be gloating.
