I recently read that Libertarian Gary Johnson has sued to be a part of the Presidential Debates. So I decided to find out what he was all about. I found that his policies are all over the map and has little chance of getting even 1% of the vote.

Here are 8 reasons that I found that neigh many Liberals OR Consevatives are likely to Vote for Gary Johnson.

Gary Johnson IS Pro-Choice

1. He is an avid pro-choice supporter, and in fact supports a woman's so-called right to choose all the way up until "fetal viability" is reached....that can be as late as 7 months! Ron Paul is avidly Pro-Life and these two positions are incompatible.

Gary Johnson DOES NOT Support the 2nd Amendment

2. When it comes to gun rights, his stance is simply that "gun laws are ineffective" and that it is an effective crime deterrent when criminals don't know who else is carrying guns. He even makes the statement that "We're ALLOWED to bear arms" because we are free society. REALLY? We are ALLOWED to bear them, or did he forget that the 2nd Amendment guarantees our RIGHT to bear them. I have seen no statement from him anywhere that talks about the 2nd Amendment specifically being written to protect us from tyranny. That was the primary reason, yet Mr. Johnson seems oblivious to this fact.

Gary Johnson DOES NOT Support the Libertarian Platform

3. In June, 2011 he declared that he really is a "Classical Liberal", but others prefer the term "Libertarian". That's interesting.

Gary Johnson DOES NOT support Border Security

4. In reference to border control, he stated we should just "Open the Borders - the flood of Mexicans will result in more taxpayers". He fully supported the job killing NAFTA and admitted that although New Mexico lost a lot of jobs "we're talking about those jobs which New Mexicans generally didn't want anyway". Really? I wonder if there are a number of New Mexicans who might take issue with that.

Gary Johnson SUPPORTS Federally Funded Health Care

5. He supports more Federal Funding for rural Health Services.

He wants to RAISE taxes on 99% of Americans

6. He supported: Replacing the payroll tax with a Fair Tax and/or eliminating the IRS while implementing a 23% sales tax across the board.

Gary Johnson SUPPORTS Affirmative Action

7. He favors the federal REQUIREMENT of hiring more women and minorities.

Gary Johnson DOES NOT support Foreign Aid including Israel.

8. States that the U.S. should provide No Foreign Aid to other countries, unless it "protects U.S. interests". He doesn't clarify who gets to decide whether or not it is in the U.S. interest or any perimeters at all. Isn't all Foreign Aid that is currently shelled out under the guise of "protecting U.S. interests".

I am currently registered Independent but voting a straight Dem ticket this year. I learned my lesson a long time ago when I voted 3rd party. We got Nixon again. This country wasn't ready for it then and it's not now. There is too much at stake for me to take any chances. I'm definitely voting for President Obama.

That article is silly, especially since it is coming from a RP forum. I know they want to get RP elected, but to completely dismiss GJ especially on the issues presented here is a joke. So he considers himself a classical liberal that supports abortion, open borders, doesn't like gun control...How in hell did he find his way on the Libertarian ticket holding such libertarians views? That man is no libertarian! Of course, Ron Paul is even less a libertarian than Gary Johnson, but don't let the facts get in the way.

"Hey, you know RP had a newsletter that he says he had nothing to do? Yeah I'm not voting for that racist old bat!"

Gee thanks. I watched it but it seems to have been made for morons. I worked in politics for 5 years, have a genius level IQ and I'm not buying it. President Obama has earned my vote and he will get it. I suppose the intelligent people of this country will once again save the morons from themselves when we re-elect Obama in November. You're welcome. ;)

even though he hasn't done what was promised? that his 2012 promises are exactly the same as his 2008?

you don't have to be a genius to support doubling down on failure.

You and I both know that President Obama has had to deal with obstruction from day 1 as the GOP stated their priority was to make him a one term President. I never expected an instant fix and I see enough of the change he envisioned that I am willing to give him 4 more years to complete what we elected him to do. Looks like he will get it too. The polls today are phenomenal.

    that's not a reason. that's an excuse.

you can bet that Obama threw out Harry Truman's 'the buck stops here' sign.

instant fix? he's provided NO fix. all he's done is spend trillions to leave us in this never ending economic malaise.

the polls today (sorry, its taken me a bit to fight my way back here) look pretty good for Romney.

i'm no genius, but i'm thinking Romney landslide...

I like to do my own thing. Music, art, writing, etc. If I see a good cause I do volunteer work but not into 'organized' anything really. My cousin asked me to join the DAR since our paternal ancestors fought in Revolutionary war. At same time I was asked to join Cherokee tribe since my maternal ancestors are NA. Weird mix. If I decided to do either it would be joining the tribe since I play NA flute and drum. Cookie parties because of ancestors just aren't my thing.

Yeah I'm really just more of into writing and debating things from various perspectives this gives me that opportunity. I tend to just hang with my family and friends; I've been disabled for the last few years with a spinal injury and TBI (thanks to the US Government) and I watched cheesy B-movies plus working on a Doctorate.

I apologize for the late reply. Happenings have been wonky for a while and no telling who I've missed. I have been very lucky. I have to deal with chronic pain but have managed to avoid the dire predictions doctors gave me so far. Just got off walking cane right before I crashed car 3 weeks ago so I'm kind of starting a few steps back again. Sometimes I think my only social life is on SH or in doctor's office here lately. I lost use of my hands and my vision in crash and thanfully it was/is temporary according to doc but it is miraculous I lived through it. Makes me appreciate life and the senses I have. Hang in there and have a great day!

Beav, I'm sure you've heard the term Idiot-savant referring to someone who is an idiot in almost all but one thing in which he is a genius. If it doesn't already exist, I think we need a new term, savant-idiot to refer to someone who is a genius in all but one thing in which he is an idiot; for example, politics.

Frankly, I would apply that to any "genius" who thinks it will make any difference to most Americans who gets elected. I've made a prediction in the last 9 or 10 presidential elections and have never been wrong. I make the same prediction for the coming election -- the American people will lose.

    hmmm.

Obama has failed. Romney has a chance of doing good. voting for Obama is certifiably suicidal.

Romney, of the two is the only one with ANY possible upside.

    let's go with that....

    "hmmm."

Way to feign deep thought. Might have fooled me 30 years ago, but I've had experience with some of the best so I don't buy that BS anymore.

It is possible that Obama has failed, but not in the way you think. Apparently he hasn't satisfied his controllers so it appears they are dropping him for their new boy, Romney, just as they dropped their boy Carter for their new boy, Reagan. Romney is stealing most of Obama's big money backers and he already has at least 7 trilaterals in his camp.

That will mean nothing to you if you aren't versed in the power politics of global finance. It does mean that Romney will do no good. He has no upside.

Go with it if you want. At least you'll have the satisfaction of knowing the man who completed the long planned dismantling of America was your choice.

I'm not a conspiracy theorist. I'm a conspiracy factualist. I believe because of what I observed. I saw a forty foot basement filled with document that anyone who saw them that continued to believe all happens by accident, stupidity, or some Darwinian Natural Evolution of Politics would have to be a complete fool. Unfortunately, not everyone has had a chance to see that basement and documentation, but when policies of one administration after another continue to drive us in the same direction, it has to be planned.

"The History of the present King of Great Britain is a history of repeated Injuries and Usurpations, all having in direct Object the Establishment of an absolute Tyranny over these States."

Look at this. Study it. If you can't see any correlation to events of the last 60 or 70 years. I you can't tie many things that have occurred and are occurring to this plan, I won't bother to answer you anymore.
events 60 70 years tie occurred occurring plan bother answer
