480 lb. killer asks stay of execution on grounds that his being fat would make lethal injection too painful. If the court granted him a stay of execution, wouldn't that discriminate against skinny and not-so-fat folks?

I don't know how lethal injection hurts as the first drug they give you knocks you out and then the second drug is administered that stops your heart.

He is no different than any other death row inmate and the execution should go on as planned Instead of worrying about his own pain, he should have thought about the pain he inflicted on his victim and family.

case by case basis... they could always just put a bullet in the brain... but they might miss... hmmmmm what other forms of execution... they could hang him... his weight should do the trick and snap his neck nicely, but might break the gallows....

yep and this from a 250 pound woman....

you would think they have the technology to set up the lethal injection so that it would work just fine. Sounds like he may just not want to die.... even tho he is a convicted killer!

Why should he be concerned about a bit of pain when he's supposed to be executed? If he didn't want to be in such a dire situation, perhaps he should've lived a righteous life and NOT killed someone! Did he ask his victim if he was hurting them when he took their life? Maybe he can ask the judge if he can be beaten to death with feather pillows, instead.

I am opposed to the death penalty for a variety of reasons, but this is the silliest yet. Or maybe the second silliest. We had one in Washington State that wanted his execution postponed because he was too fat the be hanged. He never was executed. I doubt its as painful as the pain he inflicted on his victim. They could always bring back hanging, his weight would come in useful if they can find a rope strong enough..

We would not want to risk the chance that the needle gets so much fat in it that it has a massive coronary. This could be construed as cruel and unusual punishment for the needle
