A 4-year-old Brooklyn girl who weighed only a shocking 15 pounds was found
dead this morning in her mother's bed, The Post has learned

Cops are questioning the mother and grandmother of the severely malnourished
little girl, Marchella Pierce, at the 81st Precinct station house in
Bedford-Stuyvesant, law enforcement sources said.

Sources also said that Child Development Support Corporation, which was
brought in to work with the family, visited far less than the required 2-3 times
per week.

Dear heavenly Father, take this little one and keep her safe from the evil that people do. She lived such a short time. She deserved so much better. Father, you who created the world and who watches us as we stumble our ways please show mercy on these little ones. And please, please demonstrate your justice on those that perpetrate such crimes. In Jesus' name, we pray. http://ggshouse.org/images/Su...

That is awful. If I saw them out (as well as the Child Development ppl that didnt do what they were suppose to (they could have helped her or even saved her)) it would take all I have not to snap and beat them. Having sad that. I probably wouldn't beat them because then I jeprodize my kid's. I could lose them. Although I think that most judges and juries would find jusifiable reasons for letting me get away with it but its still too risky. Plus I believe in the Law of Three-fold. They will get back what they do three-fold either in this life or the next. Marchella is in the Elysian Fields and I bet that she is given another life to live which I only wish is better than the life she just left too soon.

I can't imagine what that little one has been through. Sounds like just another home of drug-addicted parents. It didn't say what the drugs were, but I'm sure it wasn't tylenol. And that it looked like they kept her tied up in her crib! That's ridiculous.

My son is only 14 months old, and he already weighs about 28 lbs!

I don't udnerstand why most people even have children.
Start small with a goldfish, then work your way up (slowly) to a child.

"The mom, 30-year-old Carlotta, has told police she checked on her daughter at the family's Bedford-Stuyvesant residence at 4 a.m. and she was OK.

She found her unconscious about 6:30 a.m. and began trying to revive her. After about 45 minutes, she called 911."

The prevailing attitude of the administrations of all children's advocacy groups is to keep the family intact at all costs. Consequently we return innocent children back to their torturers until they die so that some PC liberal can pat himself on the back about how unbiased he is.

There is so much blame to go around and plenty more. Where are the churches???
However, I agree with you the parents are the first place to start. I am positive the policy of keeping the family together is NOT a new concept and has been the has been on the books in all states for more than 40 years. I do not have the answer, but I know, it is not working.

I agree with you about keeping the family together. I also agree that the government cannot deal with all of it. Churches and community. Faith Hope and Charity

You said it perfectly. Charity is the greatest. However, I am not always in support of keeping the family together. I really believe that the "real best interest" of the child is the key. I do challenge the comment that it is a "PC liberal" who came up with the policy. I do not have children of my own, but I have been blessed with nephews, nieces, cousins, church children, friends etc... and I am "Aunt Di" to all. Several years ago, I was on my way to work and I saw a child walking along the road he wore only a shirt and pants. It was in the 20 degree range. I stopped and picked him up and found out he had missed the bus and was walking to school. School was 15 miles+ away. To make a long story short, I tried to get him removed from the awful situation without success. DOCS kept him for short time and return him and replayed the same over and over. The system stinks and has for a long time. This occurred in 1986. There are too many agendas to name that are responsible for that little girl tragic plight.

I absolutely agree. Family is not all always the answer. Just like battered women going back to their batters but children don't have a choice. So sad
