35 Hurt, 7 Killed in Chicago Shootings

maggiemay 2012/06/18 15:47:06

Up to 200 police officers are
expected to be taken off the crime-ridden streets of Chicago to provide
security at the wedding of a senior White House adviser as President
Barack Obama flies in to attend.

President Barack Obama's visit to Chicago didn't stop another violent weekend.

At least seven people were killed and
35 were injured since Friday night. The youngest victim was a
16-year-old girl who died after she was shot three times in the chest
Saturday evening in the Englewood neighborhood.

Ten people were shot overnight
Friday, and in one hour Sunday morning, three people were killed. The
latest shooting happened just after midnight Monday when a 19-year-old
was shot to death on the city's North Side.

The shootings mark the third weekend in a row with gunfire injuries totaling well into the double digits. Last weekend, 46 people were hurt and eight killed across Chicago. The previous weekend, 29 were injured and three were killed in shootings.

"None of it is OK," Supt. Garry
McCarthy told NBC Chicago last week. "And I don't want it to seem like
we're managing it, but the realistic expectations have to be over the
long-term."

This weekend marked the beginning of
an overtime incentive program to put more police in neighborhoods where
crime is highest. Fewer than 60 officers signed up for the program,
though.

President Obama and his family arrived in Chicago Friday evening. They attended the wedding of senior White House adviser Valerie Jarrett's daughter, and the president spent Father's Day golfing with friends.

And Rahm still seems to think that Chicago's having the highest murder rate in the nation has nothing to do with Illinois's law abiding citizens not being able to carry their own concealed weapon. . .

My first apartment on the southside was $350 per month. Times have changed indeed. I am 3rd gen in Chicago area. My grands moved from Mississippi to west side Chicago right after being discharged from Pacific arena of WWII. He was able move to burbs before I was born. No, my hood was not tough. I had it pretty good for any American. I wanted to move to big city and "experience life". I have had enough, ready to move back south. That seems to he the new trend now. Those who are children or grand children of the "Great Migration" going back south. Don't know about Mississippi. The last time I was there it felt like I was stepping back into 1975 or something. Perhaps it will be Georgia or Texas.

Obama is a hypocrite, always using the race card. If that tool really cared about ITs heritage, why hasn't IT held a press conference on Chicago's local news stations with Jesse and Wright and address the black-on-black violence? How hard could that have been to do, eh?

BS. There is an agenda, and the brothers have been too damn quiet. Speak up, Oblunder! What say you about this? It has only gotten worse under your regime!

ITs hometown is Kenya and Indonesia. IT has no conscience. If IT truly represented the people and took an oath, they could do something. This chit has gotten worse under ITS regime.

McCarthy is a puppet and Rahmbo is an a-hole commie.

Please forgive my ignorance, but how many of the Top Ten Cities, are Liberal controlled?
How does the violent crime rates in those cities, compare with the percentage on Welfare?
Welfare tends to decrease the drive of self-motivation while increasing the "entitlement mentality" and the growth of the recipient class.
The entitlement mentality, tends to promote drug use, and drug use tends to promote unemployment and crime.

(substituting grades for dollars - something closer to home and more readily understood by all).

After the first test, the grades were averaged and everyone got a B.

The students who studied 'hard' were upset and the students who
studied 'little' were happy. As the second test rolled around, the
students who studied little had studied 'even less' and the ones who
studied hard decided they wanted a free ride too so they studied 'little'.

The second test average was a 'D'. No one was happy.
When the 3rd test rolled around, the average was an F.

As the tests proceeded, the scores never increased as bickering, blame and name-calling all resulted in hard feelings and no one would study for the benefit of anyone else.

To their great surprise, ALL FAILED and the professor told them that "socialism" would also ultimately 'fail' because when the reward is great, the effort to succeed is great, but when government takes all the reward away, no one will try or want to succeed.

Could not be any simpler than that.
Remember, there IS a test coming up. " elections sometime soon – perhaps the sooner the better"

These are possibly the 5 best sentences you'll ever read and all applicable
    to this experiment:

    1. You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity by legislating the
    wealthy out of prosperity.

    2. What one person receives without working for, another person must
    work for without receiving.

    3. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government
does not first take from somebody else.Your chance to have YOUR say.

    4. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it!

    5. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work
because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the
other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody
else is going to get what they work for, that is the beginning of the
    end of any nation.

Yep, and still nothing from the peanut gallery. All of this happens in Jesse Jackson's and Wrights hoods, too. Keep on letting them make straw purchases from the South running those guns up here, killing each other, robbing and thugging tourists and our citizens, all while the FRAUD-US is here, and not one damn word. Ever.

You forgot to mention the police officer that was shot in both legs, too. This is what they want. Think about it. This is exactly what they want.

We can have shotguns, not handguns. The way I figure it lowers the democratic base.
