expected to be taken off the crime-ridden streets of Chicago to provide
security at the wedding of a senior White House adviser as President
Barack Obama flies in to attend.

President Barack Obama's visit to Chicago didn't stop another violent weekend.

At least seven people were killed and
35 were injured since Friday night. The youngest victim was a
16-year-old girl who died after she was shot three times in the chest
Saturday evening in the Englewood neighborhood.

Ten people were shot overnight
Friday, and in one hour Sunday morning, three people were killed. The
latest shooting happened just after midnight Monday when a 19-year-old
was shot to death on the city's North Side.

The shootings mark the third weekend in a row with gunfire injuries totaling well into the double digits. Last weekend, 46 people were hurt and eight killed across Chicago. The previous weekend, 29 were injured and three were killed in shootings.

"None of it is OK," Supt. Garry
McCarthy told NBC Chicago last week. "And I don't want it to seem like
we're managing it, but the realistic expectations have to be over the
long-term."

This weekend marked the beginning of
an overtime incentive program to put more police in neighborhoods where
crime is highest. Fewer than 60 officers signed up for the program,
though.

President Obama and his family arrived in Chicago Friday evening. They attended the wedding of senior White House adviser Valerie Jarrett's daughter, and the president spent Father's Day golfing with friends.

That church has the right to speak, and it does border on hate speech,but it's their right, and everyone hates them for it. Funerals are my hard time ,as the family comes up, and shakes our hands, and thanks us, and you can see the sorrow,but they're glad we're there ,and we only go when requested. Wars should be chosen intellegently, not on a whim. People's lives are more important than just sending out for something that has nothing to do with our country.

He was definitely what caused my rebelious streak. He was bigger than life ,nothing like a black leather jacket, white t shirt, and jeans,and Oh yeah ,a pack of cigs rolled in one sleeve of that t shirt. No smoking for years for me ,but it was cool to see.

by the way, Rodney is more of a Christian than most I have seen on here.. and even if he used some foul language (I have no proof that he did) .. it doesn't mean that the best of us don't swear occasionally or use a nasty word.. it doesn't mean we aren't Christian.. it means we are human.. Of course there are those amongst us who believe they are perfect.. and they are usually far from being Christian. And I must ask why are you attacking him anyway??

I didn't see it and so can't comment on that..however, I also don't care for name calling and personal insults and it seems your friend is a professional at it with constant barrages of insults and name calling most especially with people that called her "friend". None of us understand it. I came here because I was away for a week and just came in to catch up.. I don't like to see people getting "ganged up on" and esp. not when it is from our side to our side..that should never be.

Why would Obama's visit stop the killing. Obama did not care or give a rat's ass what was going on nor will he do anything to stop it. Obama is a hollow puppet and a hero in only his eyes. Barack's boy Rahm is there. Why hasn't he controlled the problem?

And yet, the city leadership still goes out of its way to deter the legal ownership of firearms by law abiding citizens by more regulation and control thinking that will stop the violence. This siphoning of police resources for this woman and her daughter is living proof that the liberals really don't care about the "little guy". To them its all about their needs. .
