12 Signs you might be a member of the Tea Party
Written by |May 31, 2012|9

6. You don’t believe in global warming:

“I absolutely do not believe in the science of man-caused climate change. It’s not proven by any stretch of the imagination…It’s far more likely that it’s just sunspot activity or just something in the geologic eons of time. Excess carbon dioxide in the atmosphere ‘gets sucked down by trees and helps the trees grow.”’ – Ron Johnson

Those are myths made up by Liberals. (Stop the hate, Libs)

If you'd like to see the Platform of the Tea Party, you can go to any of their sites (or remain ignorant).
    Basically,
    - fiscal responsibility
    - less bureaucratic, less obtrusive government
    - stop wasteful spending
    - adherence to the rule of law (Constitution)
    - balancing the budget
    - less government interference in the 'free' market

And for this platform, you demonize a grassroots movement?

This is why I believe you almost have to be evil or woefully ignorant to be a Liberal.
I don't care if Tea Party members are creatures from another galaxy.
    Their political platform is all-American.

I rhink THIS illustrates my point quite well, thank you. Sorry for the double post of it but it's equally applicable for BOTH responses.

“The national government will maintain and defend the foundations on which the power of our nation rests. It will offer strong protection to Christianity as the very basis of our collective morality. Today Christians stand at the head of our country. We want to fill our culture again with the Christian spirit. We want to burn out all the recent immoral developments in literature, in the theatre, and in the press — in short, we want to burn out the poison of immorality which has entered into our whole life and culture as a result of LIBERAL excess during the past years.”— Adolph Hitler - Taken from The Speeches of Adolph Hitler, 1922-1939, Vol. 1, Michael Hakeem, Ph.D. (London, Oxford University Press, 1942), pp. 871-872.

Then HOW do you explain THIS?

“The national government will maintain and defend the foundations on which the power of our nation rests. We want to fill our culture again with the Christian spirit. Christianity has never been protected by fascism, only used. Plus you shouldn't pay attention to only the negatives of Christianity, such a view is unrealistic. Also hitler wasn't a christian, he only pretended to be to get real christians to like him, those that didn't were persecuted. And liberal meant something different then.

Christians aren't supposed to be "Christ-like". Only Christ can do that. Christians are only supposed to try to follow his teachings. He isn't concerned with "saints" nearly as much as He is with "sinners".
But I wouldn't expect you to understand that, with you being a Buddhist. Funny how you presume to know so much about Christianity, yet you AREN'T one!

Well, 5 years of Catechism, first Communion and Confirmation in the Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church of Rome tends to rub off. Then I gave up Catholicism for Lent and never went back. As I've grown older, traveled the World and seen the extremes of what humans can be, I came to the Realization that Christianity, like virtually ALL Religions, are merely an attempt to explain the unexplainable. I've also learned in a very REAL way over the past 23 years with my wife, that we've had 4 previous lifetimes together, the Last time at the Sand Creek Massacre. I know this because We WALKED the land AT Sand Creek and Recognized where everything was in 96, then had those visions validated 10 years later by a USPS Archaeological dig of the massacre site after the former owner sold the land to the Northern Cheyenne. So explain how THAT can be within the context of established Catholic dogma. Don't use the King James Version since, to Catholics, ALL Protestants are heretics and subject to burning at the stake from the Office of the Doctrine of Faith, what was formerly known as the Holy Inquisition.

Okay, fair enough. I believe everyone should be entitled to their own particular beliefs, or faith.

And, on a more humorous note...

  • Ishmael Stacy F 2012/06/29 14:58:59
    Ishmael
What I've learned over the years is that this life with my wife was my reward from God. You see, in all those previous lifetimes, 2nd Dynasty Egypt, 8th century Uxmal, 15th century Japan and 19th century Colorado, all I ever wanted to do was care for her all her life, something that was denied to me because we usually wound up being killed in nasty ways. But, since God has both a sense of humor and balance, he decided to give me FIVE lifetimes of care to accomplish in one. My TEST was how well I accomplished that task. So I remained by her side through 14 years of her debilitating illness that led to her being a bedridden invalid and, ultimately, her passing last month. I was there by her side to the last day of her life. Now I have to figure out what to do with the REST of my life when all I REALLY want to do is join her. I'm still going through the mourning process over my Pollyanna of the Haight-Ashbury and facing my life alone because how do you, in good conscience, ask another woman to follow True Love? That said, if I had to do it all over again, I would do exactly the same thing. I enclose a pic of her I took a few years ago with her old friends, Huey Lewis and Johnny Colla of the News.

I have studied conservatism as far back in history as it goes, and they have always been on the wrong side of everything. Republicans/Conservatives, and T-Boogers have great insecurities, a sense of helplessness, guilt, and the inability to effect change. I never dared to be radical when young for fear it would make me conservative when old. The radical invents the views. When he has worn them out, the conservative adopts them. The opposite of conservatism is democracy, and contempt for democracy is a constant thread in the history of conservative argument. You know, one fifth of the people are against everything all the time, and these are the conservatives.

Conservatism in every place and time is founded on deception, and in particular, rational thought is an evil thought. The opposite of conservatism is democracy, and contempt for democracy is a constant thread in the history of conservative argument. The central conservative argument: freedom is impossible unless the common people internalize aristocratic domination. Liberalism is a movement of conscience, yet conservatism has taken to acting as if they owned the language of conscience. Conservatives continually twists the language of conscience into its opposite. It has no choice: conservatism is unjust, and cannot survive except by pretending to be the opposite of what it is.

Conservatism has opposed rational thought for thousands of years. What most people know nowadays as conservatism is basically a public relations campaign aimed at persuading them to lay down their capacity for rational thought. Conservatives frequently attempts to destroy rational thought, for example, by using language in ways that stand just out of reach of rational thought or rebuttal. Conservatism have used a wide variety of methods to destroy reason throughout history. Many of these methods, such as the suppression of popular literacy (Public education), are incompatible with the modern economy. Once common people started becoming educated, more sophisticated methods of domination were required. Thus the invention of public relations, which is a kind of rationalized irrationality.

The main idea of public relations is the distinction between "messages" and "facts". Messages are things you want people to believe. A message is therefore vague enough that it is very difficult to refute by rational means. People in politics refer to messages as
"strategies" and people who devise these strategies are known as strategists. One should think of their messages as a kind of pipeline: a steady stream of facts selected (twisted or fabricated) to fit the message. Contrary facts are of course ignored. The goal is what the professionals call "message repetition". This provides right-wing activists with something to confuse their adversaries" come up with new facts to fit the conservative leader's chosen message. Having become established in this way, messages must also be continually intertwined with one another (abortion and the denial of contraception to women).

Public relations aims to break down reason and replace it with mental associations. They try to associate "us" with good things and "them" with bad things There is "A Key Mechanism of Control" in the language alteration or destruction. It is advised that Republicans/Conservatives and T-Boogers associate themselves with words like "building", "dream", "freedom", "learn", "light", "preserve", success", and "truth", while associating opponents with words and phrases like "bizarre". "decay", "ideological", "lie", "machine", "pathetic", "traitors", "Socialists", "Death Panels", "Muslim", "Big Government", and "JOB KILLING Health Care Reform". The strategy here is a kind of cognitive surgery: systematically creating and destroying mental associations with little regard for the truth. People who think this way cannot even conceptualize truth.

Another tool they use in the destruction of language is through projection. Projection is a psychological notion; it roughly means attacking someone by falsely claiming that they are attacking you (Santorum calling liberals the elites.). Reason occurs mostly through the medium of language, and so the destruction of reason requires the destruction of language. American conservatism institutionalized public relation methods of politics on a large scale, and used these methods in a savage campaign of delegitimizing democratic institutions. Conservatism runs on ideologies that bear only a tangential relationship to reality.

Conservatives are all fundamentalists with a top dressing of chaos and destruction. That is why they are the stupidest of Conservatives, T-Boogers, and reactionary in politics and the most bigoted of obstructionists and domestic terrorists. When it comes to getting their hate on they are all of the same opinion: stop it, lie about it, distort it, obstruct it, flog it, dynamite it, and stamp the truth right out of it.

Conservatism is the domination of society by an aristocracy (The filthy Rich). Conservatism is incompatible with democracy, prosperity, and civilization in general. It is a destructive system of inequality and prejudice that is founded on deception and has no place in the modern world. For thousands of years, conservatism was universally understood as being in opposition to democracy, and the destruction of reason.

Conservatives do not trust the intellect or the will of the people. Conservatism calls for us to surrender to an acknowledged aristocracy of those with great wealth, leadership abilities, power and cunning. Free people will never let that happen.

But what you are doing to this country and the people today sure isn't following the Constitution. When did the Constitution say your maggots could turn this country into a Corporate Fascism or an Oligarchy/Plutocracy?

What is leaving Europe in shambles is they didn't learn the lessons of history. You don't practice austerity in a weak economy because it makes the economy worse and may even create another Great Depression. The Great Depression of 1929 should have been a wake up call, but they ignored the lessons of what happens when you use austerity while trying to recover from an economic crises. Go back and research what happened in 1937.

The cry went up from the right-wing that the debt was to high and they had to cut spending. They cut spending and they sank right back into a deeper depression. It was the spending and jobs of World War II that pulled the country out of the Great Depression.

The lessons you T-Booger conservatives never learned was when you ignore the lessons of the past, you are destined to repeat them. Europe had to learn the hard way, and the right-wing maggots in American want to dive us right back into the abyss and drag the rest of us in the same hole -- just saying. But then it takes a brain to research and fact-find and FACTS were never a strong suit with you T-Booger conservatives.

Promoting economic prosperity is only part of it.

Is the defense of this country consistent with the General Welfare?

How about the health, safety, and security of citizens?

How about guaranteeing that ourselves and our posterity can live in a non-toxic environment? Is that consistent with promoting the General welfare.
