A little something just for fun.

12 Signs you might be a member of the Tea Party
Written by |May 31, 2012|9

1. You think Minimum Wage created unemployment:

“If we took away the minimum wage-if conceivably it was gone-we could potentially virtually wipe out unemployment completely because we would be able to offer jobs at whatever level.” —Michele Bachmann

2. Y ou believe gay marriage is a threat to national security:

”Isn’t that the ultimate homeland security, standing up and defending marriage?” —Rick Santorum on supporting a Constitutional Amendment banning gay marriage

3. You think the ’60s caused AIDS:

We had the 60s sexual revolution, and now people are dying of AIDS.” —Christine O’Donnell

4. You think the liberal media is the greatest threat to America:

”The greatest threat to America is not necessarily a recession or even another terrorist attack. The greatest threat to America is a liberal media bias.” —Rep. Lamar Smith

5. You think science supports Intelligent Design:

“There are hundreds and hundreds of scientists, many of them holding Nobel Prizes, who believe in intelligent design.” – Michele Bachmann

6. You don’t believe in global warming:

“I absolutely do not believe in the science of man-caused climate change. It’s not proven by any stretch of the imagination…It’s far more likely that it’s just sunspot activity or just something in the geologic eons of time. Excess carbon dioxide in the atmosphere ‘gets sucked down by trees and helps the trees grow.”’ – Ron Johnson

7. You believe carbon dioxide is safe:

”Carbon dioxide is portrayed as harmful. But there isn’t even one study that can be produced that shows that carbon dioxide is a harmful gas.” —Rep. Michelle Bachmann

8. You believe the framers of our Constitution eliminated slavery:

“…the very founders that wrote those documents worked tirelessly until slavery was no more.” —Michele Bachmann speaking of the Constitution

9. You think it arrogant to be educated:

“President Obama wants everybody in America to go to college. What a snob.” —Rick Santorum

10. You think the BP oil spill was an unavoidable act of God:

”From time to time there are going to be things that occur that are acts of God that cannot be prevented.” —Rick Perry

11. You don’t believe geography is important:

”Juarez is reported to be the most dangerous city in America.” —Texas Gov. Rick Perry

12. You don’t think American History is important:

“He who warned uh, the British that they weren’t gonna be takin’ away our arms, uh by ringing those bells, and um, makin’ sure as he’s riding his horse through town to send those warning shots and bells that we were going to be sure and we were going to be free, and we were going to be armed.” —Sarah Palin

Those are myths made up by Liberals. (Stop the hate, Libs)

If you'd like to see the Platform of the Tea Party, you can go to any of their sites (or remain ignorant).
    Basically,
    - fiscal responsibility
    - less bureaucratic, less obtrusive government
    - stop wasteful spending
    - adherence to the rule of law (Constitution)
    - balancing the budget
    - less government interference in the 'free' market

And for this platform, you demonize a grassroots movement?

This is why I believe you almost have to be evil or woefully ignorant to be a Liberal.
I don't care if Tea Party members are creatures from another galaxy.
    Their political platform is all-American.

Most of them dont realize just how much the govt does for all of them. All they can bring up is aiding the poor, welfare, and food stamps, and probably half of them are accepting govt assistance of some type.

On the flip side , here's 25 reasons you might be a liberal:

    * You're sure the Constitution explicitly guarantees the right to abortion and gay marriage, but not the right to own a handgun.

    * You think Dan Quayle is the dumbest Vice-President we ever had because he believed a flash card that misspelled "potato," but think Obama is a genius despite the fact he believes we have more than 57 states.

    * You'd be more upset about your favorite candidate being endorsed by the NRA than the Communist Party.

    * You think the same criminals who use guns in the commission of a crime will just hand them over to comply with the law if guns are made illegal.

    * You know that 86% of all income taxes are paid by the top 25% of income earners and you still feel that the rich "aren't paying their fair share of the taxes."

    * You put a higher priority on oil pipelines possibly inconveniencing a few caribou than you do on lowering the price of gas for everyone in the country by drilling ANWR.

    * You're worried that Osama Bin Laden might not get a fair trial if we capture him, but want George Bush thrown in prison for being too zealous in protecting us from Al-Qaeda.

    * You get infuriated when you hear about the CEO of a Fortune 500 company making tens of millions of dollars, but don't see a problem with an actor, basketball player, or trial lawyer making the same amount.

    * You're constantly seeing subtle, coded racism in campaign ads, but see nothing racist about blacks being promoted over more qualified white applicants because of Affirmative Action.

    * You think it's obscene that oil companies are allowed to make 8.3 cents per gallon in profit with gas prices this high, but would never suggest cutting the 13 cents per gallon they pay on taxes to reduce the price of gas.

    * You think George Bush is a chickenhawk because he wanted to fight in Iraq and Afghanistan despite the fact that he only served in the National Guard, but you don't think the same about Barack Obama, who has never served in the military and probably couldn't find either country on a map without help.

    * You think protesting outside of abortion clinics is extremism and should be illegal, but carrying around giant puppet heads while wearing a t-shirt that compares Bush to Hitler is just exercising your First Amendment rights.

    * You think the case for global warming is proven without a shadow of a doubt, but that we need another century or two worth of evidence to figure out if capitalism and free markets work better than socialism.

    * You believe the best way to fix the government screwing something up in the market is with...drumroll, please...more government intervention.

    * You think the first thing we should have done when Russia invaded Georgia was to take the matter to the United Nations, where Russia sits on the UN Security Council.

    * You spend your days criticizing the use of private jets, SUVS, and luxurious houses that consume enormous amounts of resources and then ride in an SUV to the airport, get on your private plane, and fly home to your luxurious house.

    * You have more nice things to say about countries like Cuba and France than you do about your own country.

    * You think the war in Iraq is unwinnable, but victory in the war on poverty is going to happen any day now if we can just get the Democrats back in charge.

    * You won't even support English as our national language, but can't seem to understand why people worry about tens of millions of illegal aliens changing our culture.

    * You think censorship is absolutely wrong; except when it's applied to conservatives on college campuses or on talk radio via the fairness doctrine.

    * You get more upset about an American soldier accidentally killing a civilian than you do about a terrorist deliberately blowing up a school bus full of kids.

    * You think Fox News is hopelessly biased to the right, but MSNBC, CNN, NBC, ABC, and CBS call it right down the middle.

    * You think the real hero of the Cold War was Mikhail Gorbachev.

    * You couldn't care less about what Americans in states like Kansas or Virginia think of you, but you would be greatly upset if a Frenchman gave you a dirty look because you're an American.

    * You think kids in public schools should have to watch Earth in the Balance and read Heather Has Two Mommies, but no piece of literature with the word "Jesus" on it should be allowed within a hundred yards of a school.

This is too good to pass up. Nice job. I replied to each talking point.

    * You're sure the Constitution explicitly guarantees the right to abortion and gay marriage, but not the right to own a handgun.

I believe the founders of this country believed in our right to arms and that marriage is between a man and woman.

    * You think Dan Quayle is the dumbest Vice-President we ever had because he believed a flash card that misspelled "potato," but think Obama is a genius despite the fact he believes we have more than 57 states.

I believe Dan Quayle is a the dumbest VP we ever had for myriad reasons but the one that comes to mind immediately is, ""We have a firm commitment to NATO, we are a part of NATO. We have a firm commitment to Europe. We are a part of Europe."

    * You'd be more upset about your favorite candidate being endorsed by the NRA than the Communist Party.

    * You know that 86% of all income taxes are paid by the top 25% of income earners and you still feel that the rich "aren't paying their fair share of the taxes."

Many aren't. The law provides for too many loopholes and/or tax breaks for offshore and abroad corporations and once we account for corporate welfare, the numbers are staggering and mind-blowing.

    * You put a higher priority on oil pipelines possibly inconveniencing a few caribou than you do on lowering the price of gas for everyone in the country by drilling ANWR.

I believe a healthy balance needs reached. I don't believe the trees, plants, etc. should come before the needs of the people but I also am educated enough to know global warming is real. Those who discount it need only view satellite images of the ice caps over the years or visit the villages and see for themselves how some villages that were miles from the sea now have waterfront property.

    * You're worried that Osama Bin Laden might not get a fair trial if we capture him, but want George Bush thrown in prison for being too zealous in protecting us from Al-Qaeda.

Nah, I want George Bush thrown in prison for lying to the American people about his reasons for going to war with Iraq because if he initially said the invasion of the sovereign nation was about a free Iraq, the American people never would have allowed it. After all, how many dead Americans are worth a free Iraq?

    * You get infuriated when you hear about the CEO of a Fortune 500 company making tens of millions of dollars, but don't see a problem with an actor, basketball player, or trial lawyer making the same amount.

The only time success bothers me is when it's achieved at the expense of another.

    * You're constantly seeing subtle, coded racism in campaign ads, but see nothing racist about blacks being promoted over more qualified white applicants because of Affirmative Action.

    I'm color blind.

    * You think it's obscene that oil companies are allowed to make 8.3 cents per gallon in profit with gas prices this high, but would never suggest cutting the 13 cents per gallon they pay on taxes to reduce the price of gas.

It's not the profit it's the total price. What happened to the noble cries claiming the war will pay for itself with oil profits and cheaper gasoline was on the way?

    * You think George Bush is a chickenhawk because he wanted to fight in Iraq and Afghanistan despite the fact that he only served in the National Guard, but you don't think the same about Barack Obama, who has never served in the military and probably couldn't find either country on a map without help.

I'm not a fan of either but I vehemently dislike Bush for a number of reasons such as his unabashed lies and cronies' profiting from the war. Since this piece you posted continually compares Obama and Bush, I will take the opportunity to voice my opinion that it will be a long time before this country ever elects someone as horrible as Bush. Obama is not my choice by a long shot but he wanks way above Bush.

    * You think protesting outside of abortion clinics is extremism and should be illegal, but carrying around giant puppet heads while wearing a t-shirt that compares Bush to Hitler is just exercising your First Amendment rights.

Both behaviors are correctly permitted under the law.

    * You think the case for global warming is proven without a shadow of a doubt, but that we need another century or two worth of evidence to figure out if capitalism and free markets work better than socialism.

Are we going to eliminate socialism in America? Give up our Interstates, universities, utilities, fire departments, military and so much more? Many rants about socialism today are uttered by those who have no clue what it actually entails, they just repeat ad nauseum "Obama is a Socialist."

    * You believe the best way to fix the government screwing something up in the market is with...drumroll, please...more government intervention.

Depends on the given situation. Big, private, for-profit financial institutions would have failed without that government intervention and the number of those on the unemployment rolls would be much higher without that government intervention (bailout).

    * You think the first thing we should have done when Russia invaded Georgia was to take the matter to the United Nations, where Russia sits on the UN Security Council.

If it's -really- about spreading democracy, then why not start much closer to home with countries whose leaders have much worse human rights abuse records than those places the hawks insist on taking us? Cuba, for example. Take it a step further and there are multiple countries with leaders whose human rights abuse records are worse than even Hussein's ... but these invasions you understand, are executed with spreading democracy in mind (wink, wink), I mean preventing WMDs, I mean preventing "terrism (SIC)" ... I mean ...

    * You spend your days criticizing the use of private jets, SUVS, and luxurious houses that consume enormous amounts of resources and then ride in an SUV to the airport, get on your private plane, and fly home to your luxurious house.

I drive an SUV and a pickup truck and don't complain about anyone's preferred mode of transportation. I drive large, American vehicles for comfort, work ability and safety.

    * You have more nice things to say about countries like Cuba and France than you do about your own country.

Well, I can give you 36 reasons (http://www.photius.com/ranki... why such a thing could be true but we can focus on just a few, such as our decreasing lifespan, escalating infant mortality rate and increasing (by the day) number of homeless but I believe the health care ranking speaks volumes.
    http://www.livescience.com/83...

    * You think the war in Iraq is unwinnable, but victory in the war on poverty is going to happen any day now if we can just get the Democrats back in charge.

We didn't win anything in Iraq. We lost American lives and the place is more dangerous than it was when we invaded. Both parties are limp crooked at this time.

    * You won't even support English as our national language, but can't seem to understand why people worry about tens of millions of illegal aliens changing our culture.

I live in Flori-Duh so of course I support the language. It's why I avoid the Miami area like the plague.

    * You think censorship is absolutely wrong; except when it's applied to conservatives on college campuses or on talk radio via the fairness doctrine.

Censorship is wrong, period. Of course, that didn't stop Bush from enacting a media photo ban on the returning dead Americans.

    * You get more upset about an American soldier accidentally killing a civilian than you do about a terrorist deliberately blowing up a school bus full of kids.

Collateral damage occurs with all war.

    * You think Fox News is hopelessly biased to the right, but MSNBC, CNN, NBC, ABC, and CBS call it right down the middle.

Actually, I already -know- FOX is biased as its VP admitted it to CNN.
    http://www.pensitoreview.com/...

    * You think the real hero of the Cold War was Mikhail Gorbachev.

Reagan had the extreme fortune of outstanding timing .... right place, right time.

    * You couldn't care less about what Americans in states like Kansas or Virginia think of you, but you would be greatly upset if a Frenchman gave you a dirty look because you're an American.

Actually, I don't care much what anyone thinks of me other than the wife and kids.

    * You think kids in public schools should have to watch Earth in the Balance and read Heather Has Two Mommies, but no piece of literature with the word "Jesus" on it should be allowed within a hundred yards of a school.

Nah, I think God and paddling should be brought back to public schools.
