I wish 99% of those currently in our government would die. They have proven they do not care about any Americans other than themselves and the elite of society who they currently work for.

Understandable, but if you don't know what these candidates stand for then you shouldn't vote at all. It's time you do your own research and vote accordingly, and not rely on your father to tell you who the best candidate is. Sure, consult with him, but challenge him on why he thinks Romney is the right choice.

I would highly suggest that a young person like you check out this video (google: "America: Freedom to Fascism") and spend the time to watch the entire video. Then you'll see why a guy like Romney is NOT the answer to America's problems.

I've talked with him about it a lot, but I can never seem to remember the conversations, probably because most of them took place when I was 9-10.

Well, you're still young SkittleE. I didn't realize you were only 14 when you first posted. I can understand why you would trust your father's judgement on issues like presidential candidates. All I can say is that most of the candidates we end up having to choose from are hand selected puppets who the world's financial elite have chosen and promoted through the media outlets they control. They aren't there to serve the people of America, they are there to serve the corporations who actually run this country.

I am impressed that at least you're interested in politics at your age. Most people 3 to 4 times your age are completely ignorant to who they are voting for.

Well, I want America to be a good place to live. Of course, we might have dug ourselves into so deep a rut that it's gonna' be impossible to get out.

And thank you! I feel all special inside now. :D (I'm actually thirteen, Sodahead didn't have an option for that, though.)

Well, I hope for my children's sake (they are 8 and 13) that the people of America realize that both the Democrats and Republicans are not working for them. They talk a good game and make people believe they care, but then they pass laws and bills that do exactly the opposite of what they said. And most people still trust them because they are too lazy to follow up and see what these people are actually doing.

The only advice I can give you for when you're old enough to vote SkittleE, is do not trust a political party. Only vote for candidates who have proven themselves to be honest (there are a few, very few) and have voted to uphold the Constitution of the USA. Most of those in Congress (and the President) swear to do this but never do. And that is why America is in such bad shape. Read the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution, and talk to people who understand them. The more you know about those documents the better prepared you will be to judge candidates.

I just hope for your sake (and the sake of my kids) that it isn't too late to save America so that you can have a bright future. I'm trying to do what I can to make that happen, but it's a hard battle. I hope you'll be joining the good fight when you're old enough. :)

Well, they aren't truly politicians if they're honest. And I hope you're right. Thank you for the advice!

Romney would be a step in the right direction, but if you're looking for a true conservative, I think there are a lot of better choices. Just my opinion.
...and, thanks for the rave. :-)

There are hardly any other choices, let alone better choices, if you want a TRUE conservative. Every one of the media annointed "viable" candidates is a complete neo-conservative. They are all about big government, endless war, and more government control over our lives. Look at their track record and see for youself.

In this year's presidential race, there is only 1 true conservative and that is Ron Paul. Every other "Republican" is nothing more than a RINO, and will not make any significant changes to the destructive path Amnerica is on.

I admire the sentiment, but I don't agree that Obama would die from eating crap. As they say, you are what you eat.
